Chris [00:00:21]:
So here we are with AMA. AMA Farming is it aim of farming, and I’m speaking with Jeremy. And so tell us a little bit about AMA Farming and what you’re doing here and why you’re at Field Days this year.
Jeremy [00:00:34]:
Yeah, so AMA Farming, we’re just launching our product today. So we’ve got two products. One is a smartphone system that will allow them to measure their pasture cover on farms. So scan the paddocks and then it estimates the COVID that’s still in development. And then our main product is a digital assistant for farmers. So it will work out where the cows should go on which day, how much supplement they need, et cetera, et cetera. So they don’t have to do that. It will give them insights to say, hey, you might want to consider dropping some paddocks out for Silage right now and sort of acts as that sort of digital assistant that they can interact with every day.
Chris [00:01:15]:
So instead of having it all in their head, they can just look at the app. And how does it scan the area for pasture coverage in that basically just.
Jeremy [00:01:26]:
Your basic smartphone camera. So it just takes a video. You scan that, it uses that to then estimate the pasture cover. So we built a model that does that.
Chris [00:01:36]:
That’s pretty cool. So it’s a little bit like when you do the panorama shot with your phone.
Jeremy [00:01:44]:
Yeah, we call it Aim of vision. So it’s just literally natural turnaround in the paddock and I’ll estimate and we’re looking at integrating it with drones as well to capture that data to then measure it. It’s just really looking to save them time because walking around the farm might take three or 4 hours. Whereas if you can do that via a smartphone, conveniently, you’re not having to drag around all this equipment. Every farmer has a smartphone now and.
Chris [00:02:09]:
You could send somebody else with the smartphone. They don’t have to have the experience that the farmer has. So you can go not saying that you get your kids to do all the work, but you could.
Jeremy [00:02:20]:
Yeah, that’s the beauty of it. Yeah. So anyone that doesn’t have those years of experience, that now, if they don’t have a trained eye, it provides that convenience, really, and accuracy for them for that. So that one’s in development, we’re looking to roll that out in the Waikado initially and then develop for other regions over the next year and link it with our main digital assistant product, which is available to farmers right now.
Chris [00:02:46]:
So that app clicks into or is like a module for the well.
Jeremy [00:02:52]:
Yeah, so the vision will click in. So rather than having to use a plate meter or whatever, they could use this aim of vision and then it links with our main product. So then they can do their farm walks and then they’ll come in there and see what’s the situation on farm, what’s the growth rate, where they need to do some tweaks and improvements and suggest some of that for them. And then even the farm staff then because it’s got that plan for the next three days, they can pull that up on their phone, say, okay, the milkers need to go on this paddock on this day. They need this brake size so that you don’t have to text them, you don’t have to put something up on the wall and that so it’s that convenience as you’re going, work as you’re going.
Chris [00:03:33]:
Cool. And so you’re waikato based.
Jeremy [00:03:36]:
Yes, we’re Waikato based but available nationwide.
Chris [00:03:38]:
And how long have you been has AIMER been around?
Jeremy [00:03:41]:
- So I founded in 2021 and then sort of middle of last year went through the Sprout backing. So, yeah, we’re growing over time, bringing on new people.
Chris [00:03:56]:
And what are you looking forward to here in Field days? What’s the big goal of field days?
Jeremy [00:04:03]:
I guess it’s some awareness initially for us, giving the farmers a bit of a demo of the product, what it can do. Also things that they’d like to see because we’re developing the product. So yeah, really hearing what are some of the pain points, what are the things that they’d like to see and solution as well.
Chris [00:04:23]:
Yeah, to get that feedback. That’s huge. So if people are listening to this, if we’re still in field days, they can come along and sort of get some sort of demo.
Jeremy [00:04:35]:
So come in here on site PB 49, but you can also go online, aimer-farming.com, and you can see the product there. Look at that. We’re also offering an exclusive Field Days offer, so 20% off for a six month subscription and then yeah, just check us out. But you can find us online, certainly under AIMER Farming if you search for that.
Chris [00:05:03]:
Cool. And how was Sprout for you guys?
Jeremy [00:05:05]:
For, yeah, so we went through the accelerator. Just the support. Yeah, just highly recommend anyone going through the process of getting a startup going, putting yourself forward to the Sprout accelerator and really just giving it a go here and just the mentoring, the connections that they have. It’s been great.
Chris [00:05:25]:
Cool. Well, I can’t think of any other questions for you, really. Is there anything I should have asked that I didn’t?
Jeremy [00:05:31]:
No, I think pretty much covered.
Chris [00:05:34]:
All right, so we’ll have that URL linked in on the show notes and yeah, thanks very much for that. Cheers Jeremy.
