Sam [00:00:22]:

Hello, and welcome to episode 442 of the Chris and Sam podcast. I’m Chris. And I’m Sam, welcome along to your weekly fix of randomness technology and life wrapped up to 30 minutes of audio pleasure.

Chris [00:00:33]:

Exstasy.

Sam [00:00:34]:

Exstasy. That’s it. That’s what we’re going for.

Chris [00:00:38]:

audio ecstasy for your ears. Alright. so alright. So I I’m gonna get it over and done with. Alright? I — Good. I know. I know. I know what you’re going with. Yeah. Yeah. You know what I know. It it it’s been a while. It’s been well. Alright. So let’s talk let’s talk Trump.

Sam [00:00:58]:

Now skip forward 10 minutes if you want, and we’ll talk about something else.

Chris [00:01:04]:

but he hasn’t spoken about Trump for a long time. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So What’s happening? What’s what’s he been up to? Way too much going on. And I almost don’t wanna talk about it because you’ve been indicted again and all that sort of stuff. But there’s been a couple of things that that cracked me up, and I thought it was worth having a laugh about. And one that is his spending. So apparently, he spent, 40 in the first half of this year. Okay. Yep. They spent $40,000,000 on Lewis. Woah. That’s yeah. — works out at $220,000 a day.

Sam [00:01:41]:

Woah. How many lawyers has he got on the go? A few weeks. It’s not just for him. So this is through,

Chris [00:01:47]:

the pack that he he did. And, he’s, you know, he’s paying the lawyers for all the potential witnesses that he doesn’t wanna be witnesses against them. I’ll pay for your lawyer.

Sam [00:02:00]:

Oh, okay.

Chris [00:02:02]:

But, yeah, but even with that, there’s a lot of questions like, that can’t be right. That’s too much money. Does he have that much money? Well, yes. Because in the 2 weeks, 2 weeks, it might be 4 weeks, but 2 to 4 weeks. after he after January 6th and — Yeah. — all that, he ramped up his donation thing and brought in 200 and 1,000,000.

Sam [00:02:31]:

Oh, that’s right.

Chris [00:02:32]:

Nice. And and that’s just in those few weeks or whatever it was after January 6. So he’s kept doing that. And every time a charge drops, he hits the airwaves again and gets a bunch more donations. Oh. Now that’s the other thing. Like, in this, in this spending, because this is all from the donations, that’s paying for this, not out of his pocket, because I don’t know how much money he’s got in his pocket. He says he’s billionaire. I doubt it. But, one of the things these donations have been paying for is, Melania is here, How much is 6 worth 6 months worth of hair

Sam [00:03:16]:

care costs? Oh, okay. It’s gonna be a silly figure. So

Chris [00:03:21]:

100,000. $108,000.

Speaker C [00:03:25]:

Oh my gosh. That was so close. Yeah. Yeah. No. No. It’s ridiculous. But I have made $1000

Chris [00:03:30]:

for 6 months of looking after here, and those are as consultancy fees. to Melania, but basically it’s being paid to a hairdresser.

Sam [00:03:41]:

Oh, okay.

Chris [00:03:43]:

So, you know, anyway, So that’s, trump’s spending. And somewhat related to that, and I’m I’m I’m I’m putting my tow out there and saying a few things that aren’t necessarily true, but I think we’ll find out. Okay. Okay. One of the things he he he did this early announcement. So all the, all the people that go for a, you know, the presidency they do it almost 6 months of the day before the the date of the primary. I’m running for presidents. Yeah. Yeah. One of the reasons they do that is because as soon as you say you’re gonna be running for president, there’s a whole bunch of other rules that come in for your co campaign finances. Oh, okay. So you want it as close as possible. Yeah. You you don’t wanna do that really because you gotta do all this extra gaffe. Yeah. Okay. But Trump, of course, He went real early because he wanted to stop lawsuits against them. So he went 15 months out. What? So it was 15 months before that he he announced that he was going for president. And I think what’s gonna happen is there’s gonna be a whole bunch of campaign finance violations against him because he didn’t think of that. And he just went, oh, I’m gonna run for president. You can’t you can’t, you know, indict me now. And,

Sam [00:05:07]:

Shouldn’t he be in jail?

Chris [00:05:11]:

I honestly think I I think he will be. I honestly think, 2 years’ time he’ll be in prison. Okay. We will, we’ll check-in We’ll check-in in 2 years’ time and find out. Alright. So that’s that’s that’s, that’s that’s my trump thing. I got it out of my system. Thank you for that.

Sam [00:05:32]:

Last week, this week, I helped move Sarah’s uncle Phil. Oh, yeah. Now, he, ended up. He wasn’t he’s gonna drive Crosschurch, and he was gonna use a little truck or a trailer, but he didn’t have a car. He only had his work car, and he quit that job. he’s going to Christchurch for his new job. So he’s got a truck. Yeah. Yeah. No. He had a truck organized, and then he brought his work car off his work. So, yeah, he got a good deal. He’s been driving it the whole time all around the country. He knows what’s been done to it. It’s got brand new, service and tiles. Oh, yeah. No. It’s it’s cool when you’re the one that’s been driving it the whole time. You know? So he had to go and hunt out a place that only has a one way trailer hire, because he’s going to Crosschurch. And they’re not that common, apparently. So shout out to Uto he had to go to he didn’t really know where he had to go, and he just said a name, and I think it was T. Rowe, but I’m not sure because then he said to me, oh, it’s gonna take me an hour and 10 minutes to drive there. So I’m not sure. Anyway, he gets this trailer it’s a furniture moving trailer, so it looks like a horse float. Yeah. Yeah. it’s the largest one I think he could put on the back of his car. Yep. so that was all good. Worked all that out. I ended up backing it down a block of flats between a block of flats and four cars. So that’s fun. And, we we can’t be, you know, I did it twice because we’ve now got his a three seater leather lounge suite here. He gave it to us. Nice. Nice. And, I had to bring that home first, and then I had to go back. Is that a loaner, or is that a No. No. We’ve got it. It’s originally it’s originally from Perth. Like, all his stuff came over from Australia, and then he’s, I’m not taking that. Anyway, we packed this trailer as much as we could, the the he couldn’t get us two bedside tables in, so I now we now own those too. so it’s good, which is cool. And then he loaded it all up, and he’s just like, oh, let’s go get some lunch. and he just left the trailer there. He didn’t have a lock on it or anything. Nothing happened, but I was just, like, so paranoid about it. He’s like, oh, I’ll put a lock on it later. Okay. And during the day, he says, oh, you know what? We’ll all go out for dinner. I’ll take you out for dinner. And he said, oh, RSA. Let’s go to dinner at RSA. and he said that 2 or 3 times. Right? And then he he was saying to Sarah’s mom’s husband, Richard. Oh, you’ve got your membership card a. Oh, yeah. That’s cool. That’s good. And then at one point, he said, Workingman’s club, but he only said that once. So we’re like, okay. So anyway, we all went we came home, and he didn’t have a place to stay anymore because we packed it all up. So we don’t know what he did for 2 hours. But anyway, we drove to the RSA, and there’s no one there. It’s dead, except there’s one person in a car, and the bar lady had come out And we got out, and we walked in. She goes, ah, are you guys here with the special needs, guys? I was like, no. She goes, ah, We’ve got the bar open for another, like, half hour. there’s no restaurant that they’re packing up. the special needs guys, they’re allowed come have one beer, and they’re not allowed to play the pokeys, but they’re in the bar. I’m like, okay.

Chris [00:09:04]:

So — Not not the place to go for dinner.

Sam [00:09:07]:

Well, there was no it was completely shut. Yeah. Exactly. On on a Friday night, it was it was, anyway, So I was like, oh, he did mean the Workingman’s club. So we go there, which seems to be the busiest place, in Frickett Hamilton. I’ve been there a couple of times. Yeah. It’s It’s weird. Hey. It’s just I I I it’s weird. I don’t know. I didn’t like it. like, it I don’t know. It’s just a weird place. There’s heaps of old people. It’s I just went at home, sadly. No. No. No. You’re way you’re way older. Sorry. That way older than you. But, they had the TVs on, and there was, rugby or leegon, think it was rugby. And then the darts was on, which is cool. That’s fine. And, then we left there, and that was all good. And then I think it was the next day, John from Dubai, where we get our Dubai cups from. Yeah. Yeah. he messaged me and he says, oh, hey, we’re back in the UK at the moment, and I can’t believe that’s are on from Hamilton is on the TV. Yeah. Yeah. And I was like, oh, I didn’t know that was in Hamilton.

Chris [00:10:18]:

I only knew that was in Hamilton because of Adam McFall. Oh. Huge dance guy. And he I knew it was on I didn’t — No. I didn’t. — remember what date or whatever, but I knew it was on. Yeah. because John says assume you and Chris went to watch, and then he had the crying emoji face.

Sam [00:10:35]:

and it was on sat it was on Saturday as well. And when you watch it on TV, it’s just a huge room with a big crowd. It could be anywhere. I don’t know. Yeah. Yeah. Anyways, it caught them. It was a $147 a ticket if we wanted to go on Saturday.

Chris [00:10:50]:

Yeah. I because I’m pretty sure, Adam Wayne. Adam Adam’s a big dance fan. A huge. Oh, okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. He knows all the personalities, he’s knows all that stuff. So, yeah, I I I wouldn’t have a clue. No. No. I don’t have a clue. I just didn’t see it advertised anyway. I don’t watch or listen to commercial radio or TV. So Yeah. Same. And and if if Adam hadn’t mentioned it to me, I think because was it on a week or something?

Sam [00:11:17]:

I’m not it was definitely on the Friday Saturday, but I don’t know if there was a lead up to it.

Chris [00:11:22]:

I don’t know. because I’m trying to remember why he told me, and it might have been because he didn’t come to the, comedy club on Wednesday.

Sam [00:11:28]:

Okay.

Chris [00:11:29]:

And I it might have had something to do that, but or at least that’s when he told me, like, because we’re messaging. Yeah. But, anyway, yeah. cool. Okay. Alright. So, hey. So so you earned that, they’re the lounge suite by backing up the car down that alleyway. And lifting some heavy stuff and then jamming in some glass tables

Sam [00:11:54]:

on their side. And also he’s like, oh, I’ve got all these pictures and posters. Oh, and these ones are in He had a science Sean Fitz Patrick poster, but in glass. Oh, that should fit in there somewhere. Yep. Jam it in the top.

Chris [00:12:11]:

Oh, god. I I broke so many paintings when I was younger,

Sam [00:12:17]:

putting them in like that. And, yeah, I did not hear if anything broke at the other end. I have watched a bunch of stuff this week, Chris. Yes. A wide selection of things that will help people no matter what you’re into. So first, I watch a 2023 movie called Paradise. Paradise. Okay. I think it’s German. It’s on Netflix. And if you like black mirror, you will like this film. basically, there’s a company. I could go to this company in this world, and I could say, yep. Find me a match. And they’ve matched me up with somebody who wants to be a bit younger, they take 5 or 7 years of my life and pay me a ton of money and I age 7 years, and they d h 7 years. Nice. And this dude’s wife put her name down on a mortgage, and she put down a 40 years of her life, and they come and collect. So she gets real real quick, and then he’s gotta try and undo it. That’s that’s that. That’s pretty good. That’s cool. it’s, you know, dubbed dubbed with English. Yep. So that’s alright. And then we realized we hadn’t watched the documentary black hands, which is the David Bain dramatization thing. And that’s on tv and zed. And it’s a five part drama, you know, thing about David Bain and all that craziness. We’d listen to the podcast a couple of years ago, also called Black Hands, which is good. this one’s pretty good. it was good. And then after that, because I went down the rabbit hole, There’s a guy on YouTube called Matt Orchard, crime and society. This dude only has

Chris [00:14:11]:

200,000

Sam [00:14:12]:

subscribers, 28 videos, and one of his videos or documentaries is all about David Bain, and he’s Kiwi, and it’s very good. I really liked it. Oh, so what’s this guy saying? the YouTube account is called Matt Orchard, crime and society. I’ll link to it in the show notes. He covers a whole bunch of crime all around the world. this might be the only he’s only got 2028 videos. Sounds good. He hasn’t done anything for about a year? Oh, no. I lied. I lie. He has done some stuff recently. But this one was 2 years ago, this David Bain thing, but he explains things really well. He’s like, When you, you know, find yourself stuck in a situation of potentially, murdering your whole family, what do you need? Well, you need an all black. And he he just he explains why all blacks are so important to New Zealand culture. And he goes, this and it’s very, yeah, it’s very well done. And he goes, this is what you need. And so they go, so this dude just comes in and, you know, And then he goes, it’s very funny and dry, and it’s very chewy. Oh, definitely definitely checking that But it’s very well done. I he he has some really good points, and you’re just sort of going, what the hell? More than more than ever. And he uses footage from the TV and zed, drama thing we saw in this. to show different things, which is good. And then to round it out, my viewing things for the last week, I downloaded, the documentary being evil, which is about evil and evil. Oh, yeah. Yeah. It’s it’s he want a crazy guy. He’s so crazy. He had so much money at one point. And then he, loses it all because he beats up the guy that writes a story about him. A what? He turns out with a baseball bat and beats him up, and then he gets 6 months jail. but they say to him, Hey, you’re allowed work release. So he’s like, oh, okay. So every day, a limousine comes and picks him up and takes him to a bar. Right? And then at night, he goes back to prison. And then the other inmate’s like, well, this isn’t fair. What’s going on? And he goes, oh, okay. So he gets a limousine for everybody else. to pick all of them up and take him to their jobs. He’s crazy. And they show him some of his stunt. They show all the stunts and the jumps that he was doing And he was just like, oh, I’ve committed to it. I’ve gotta do it. And he’s like, I’ll just do it on Harley because it’s the best bike. It’s like the heaviest dumbest bike to do a jump on. And he’s just like, Mara,

Chris [00:16:57]:

you know,

Sam [00:16:58]:

And then he — Oh my god. — he crashes offline, and he’s like, I’m never jumping again. He tells the crowd. And then he’s like, oh, no. No. No. That that was just my mind. not trying to, you know, protect me. I’ll do another jump. It’s pretty good.

Chris [00:17:13]:

Oh, I might have to check that out. yeah. No. I definitely have to check out, man, which Actually, I tell you, I did watch something this this this week. the magnificent 7 from, 2016 I was gonna say, is that a remake? Yeah. It’s a remake. So, the original one was, I I wanna say 1960, 1962, something like that. Okay. Yep. And then, because it reminds me of battle beyond the stars. Oh, you wouldn’t remember that, would you? That doesn’t sound familiar at all. Okay. I went to see that in the movies when I was, a young person. Like — Okay. probably about 10 or 11, 12, something like that. Actually, yeah. and that is modeled after Magnificent 7, the original. And, yeah. So but, yeah, Magnificent 7, Chris Pratt, It was so good. It was so good. I’m like,

Sam [00:18:13]:

how have I never seen this? I didn’t I’ve never even heard of it.

Chris [00:18:17]:

And do you know how I found out about it? Ann Denzel, Washington.

Sam [00:18:21]:

Yep. And there’s a damsel. How did you find out about it?

Chris [00:18:25]:

YouTube shorts. I tell you that shit works. Advertising on YouTube tube shorts. Yeah. Okay. So there you go. cause it came up, like, clips out of it. Yeah. Yeah. Like three times. And I’m like, I have to see this movie. How can I never see this movie? So, yeah. And that’s happened a couple of times now. I can’t remember what the other one was, but there’s a couple of times I’ve gone. I’ve got to see this movie now. I’m looking at it now, and I was like, I’ve never

Sam [00:18:52]:

I don’t think I’ve seen I don’t remember ever seeing anything about this movie.

Chris [00:18:58]:

I’ve never seen I’m glad you said that because I don’t recall it either, and I’m a bit of a fan of Western’s, like, not so much now, but when I was younger, I was I was real fan, like, I watched. Yeah. Yeah. And, I’m like, I can’t believe I haven’t seen this movie, so I watched it. It’s a great watch. It’s really good.

Sam [00:19:15]:

and and, yeah, it’s a star studded cast. It’s really cool. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. It’s crazy. It’s just, like, even though I might not watch most movies, I’ve usually got something in the back of my brain going, oh, I know. I know they make that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Especially with so many famous people. Anyway,

Chris [00:19:31]:

okay. It’s good. I recommend that. That’s pretty cool. But it’s about the only thing I’ve watched, this this this week. It was a thought. While we talk about movies, I’ve gotta talk about an apology.

Sam [00:19:43]:

What did you do?

Chris [00:19:45]:

and it’s not an apology from the podcast, apology from the newsletter.

Sam [00:19:49]:

Your newsletter. Yeah. My newsletter. I misquoted Adam Harvey.

Chris [00:19:56]:

badly.

Sam [00:19:57]:

This this doesn’t this does not sound

Chris [00:20:00]:

like you at all. I’m finding this hard to I’m finding this hard to believe. What did you do though? I can’t even remember what you said. At the, because you read the newsletter. Right? So at the, at the screening of the film, surgical precision. Yes. We were talking about something, and this is where I got my wires crossed. Originally was talking about, mission impossible. I forget what what it was, but the the the conversation devolved or involved And, Adam said, he really hates it when a film that’s part of a sequel acts as if it’s all part act 1. And — Yes. Yes. Yes. That’s right. — June was like that. June head was all at 1 from beginning to end. Oh, okay. And there was and there was no — Yeah. — rise and fall and all that. And he said, and and Dan English was like, I tell you, lord of the rings, the first lord of rings is like that. It’s like, no, that’s a fellowship. It’s it’s a lead up to the fellowship. They have to escape the hob the Shire and all that. It’s it’s That’s a whole thing. It’s — Yeah. Okay. — more than 1 x. So not mission impossible. Yeah. And then I, wrote in the thing that was mission impossible. And and Adam goes, messages me. He goes, I said Mission Impossible’s

Sam [00:21:23]:

an example of how they do it right. It was June that was wrong. I’m so glad because when I read it, I’m thinking about mission impossible, and I’m going, I’m so done with movies. I thought it had a 3 act sort of thing. And I was like, I don’t know. Adam knows more about filming than me. So I was like, see, I don’t have that excuse because I I watched the movie before I wrote it.

Chris [00:21:47]:

Yep. After he told me this, and I’m going through it again. Really, it’s all one act. I thought it was pretty cool. Oh my gosh. Apologies to Adam. I screwed up. but, yeah, he’s he’s gotta be pissing himself. Watch and listen to this.

Sam [00:22:07]:

Have you heard of the polls of inconvenience car rally?

Chris [00:22:12]:

No.

Sam [00:22:13]:

No. Neither have I. So

Chris [00:22:16]:

4 hamiltonians

Sam [00:22:18]:

are doing it with 8 of their friends, It’s an unsupported car rally. And basically, you take a 12 100 cc car, and you go around Europe and Northern Africa, to seek out inconvenient locations, which are chosen by the rally organizers. It only has a set start and finish location near Prague, and then there’s 87 poles in inconvenient places. And you have to pick where you want to go and how many you’re trying to get in the 3 weeks. It’s up to you. You have to sort out all your own roots your accommodation, your food, your visa insurance, and everything. They’re just like, see you later.

Chris [00:23:03]:

that’s pretty damn cool. Like, if you had money, if you had money, the because that’s gonna cost you some money. but if you had money, there would be a an adventure you could make a a bloody good adventure out of that. So hang on. In this story, these guys love adventure.

Sam [00:23:21]:

This guy, one of their friends said them once, Hey, Queenstown was pretty cool, so we decided to make that trip to Queenstown from Hamilton on 50 cc scooters.

Chris [00:23:35]:

I remember a story about that. Oh, it was these guys.

Sam [00:23:39]:

So

Chris [00:23:41]:

I remember talking to somebody going, oh, I got a photo of him arriving in Queenstown at 50 cc scooter. I’m like, oh, from where? From Christ? So from Hamilton?

Sam [00:23:52]:

So there’s 70 teams taking place in this with 7 from New Zealand. they wanna go off the beaten track as possible. They wanna go Northern Italy, France, Morocco, Western Hara, maybe Albania, Bosnia, Croatia?

Chris [00:24:10]:

That’s awesome. That’s awesome. Well, so what was the start? So the endpoint was Prague? What was the start point? Prague.

Sam [00:24:18]:

They gotta make their way back. Alright. So it’s a sec. And it’s and it’s up to them to, you know, yeah. So far, they’ve done 15 poles of inconvenience. They’re in Italy, and they’ve done about 13,000 kilometers. that had to change our spark plugs, several tires, wheel bearings need replacing, while battling heat waves. They had no aircon in 55 degree temperature in Morocco.

Chris [00:24:44]:

Oh my god. They just had

Sam [00:24:47]:

they had wet t shirts and a spray bottle.

Chris [00:24:50]:

Yeah. Yeah. That’s hot down there. I told you about that. I when I was in Spain, I worked with a bunch of Moroccans. and it would get up to 35 degrees in Spain, and that was fun for me. And that’s not that’s nothing for them, I guess. And they’re wearing singlets under their shirts. and they’re wearing women’s shirts at 35. And I’m like, what are you doing? And then I went to Morocco and Oh, okay. I get it.

Speaker C [00:25:17]:

It’s it’s hot.

Sam [00:25:19]:

Yeah. Yeah. It it depends what you used to. Yeah.

Chris [00:25:23]:

alright. Speaking of Italy, if they’re gonna be in Italy, they’ve got they’re gonna be careful about the Italy tourist charges. Did you see this in, I think it was the Herald Gear, the Herald.

Sam [00:25:34]:

oh, is that where it was? I didn’t know where it was. I just yeah. Okay. I saw the headline. Yeah. The tourist was livid after a £2 charge for cutting the sandwich in the half.

Chris [00:25:46]:

It’s not 2 pounds. €2, I should — €2. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. — to charge charge them €2. And the the the but the restaurants is is back in itself. It’s like we had to put it on two plates because they bought a sandwich and they said we’re gonna share it. Can you cut it in half? So we had to put two plates. We got double the washing up, 2 napkins, 2 knives and forks. If they choose to use them, you know, €2.

Sam [00:26:15]:

I really I really wanna say this. I I really hope that this sandwich was amazing, and it was huge. It said something weird in it.

Chris [00:26:24]:

where was it in the story? It says, you know, it had French fries in it, so it wasn’t easy to cut.

Sam [00:26:31]:

it took us time to cut it in 2 because of the French fries.

Speaker C [00:26:34]:

Yeah. What?

Sam [00:26:37]:

I can get I I Yeah. I yeah. I I could cut through that easy. Just saying. Put that on my CV, actually. So, yeah, so anyway, I I that’s not that big a story. I just thought it was no. No. It’s great, though. Cause the the price of everything is going up, I think some of these supermarkets are taking the piss with their pricing sometimes. Yeah. It’s crazy. Oh, cause

Chris [00:27:03]:

Carl went to I think it was a countdown. He got a camera. It was on special. Yeah. I bet it was. And, yeah, it cost him $15

Sam [00:27:12]:

for a Yeah. Because It’s like,

Chris [00:27:16]:

I didn’t realize it weighed that much.

Sam [00:27:19]:

Some of those coomer at the moment are, like, bigger than my head.

Chris [00:27:23]:

Yeah. But still, yeah.

Sam [00:27:25]:

yeah. Yeah. They’re not cheap. so that’s crazy. What’s Zoom up to? I’ve just saw that because we’re on Zoom right now.

Chris [00:27:33]:

Zoom is now using your data. So in March, Zoom updated its terms of service. the key change every user now allows zoom to tap into their data. So that’s meetings, private conversations, face recognition, to improve its ai algorithms. Okay. people who just found out in the med.

Sam [00:27:54]:

I saw I saw something in a Facebook group. yeah, Twitter ranging mad, it says. Oh, yeah. Twitter’s not there anymore.

Chris [00:28:01]:

from from Zoom’s point of view, this isn’t anything new. but in June, it launched AI features to summarize meetings to activate these features, users consented to hand over their data under the guise of Zoom IQ product improvement. but, you know, the story says, you know, the reality is everybody’s doing the same shit. doing the same thing. So does OpenAI. but, yeah, in the end, it’s mostly about optics.

Sam [00:28:32]:

the only the only way they cannot do it, I think, is if you meet people face to face. Like Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it seems a big company, like, you’d expect something. I don’t know. I don’t know what people are expecting. Yeah. But they’ll they’ll probably listening on in on us right now because we’ve seen Zoom a few times.

Chris [00:28:52]:

Zoom, Zoom, Zoom, Zoom. Zoom. Zoom. Zoom. Yeah. Yeah. Hey. I tell you what, I’ve got a question for you. What — Alright. — what do you think, America’s been hanging out for all this time. They just haven’t got around to getting they really needed. It’s just that gap in the marketplace for for America.

Sam [00:29:12]:

probably more guns, a different type of gun, a gun that fires a gun.

Chris [00:29:18]:

Well, you’re right. It’s guns. It’s — preschoolers. — No. No. What? Hey, automatic rifles for preschoolers with smaller, triggers, smaller hand grip, small everything. No. This car kit is as the jr15, because it looks like an a r 15, but it’s for kids. It originally had a logo on it, which was a skull and crossbones with a pacifier, and it is it’s not a joke. even on Snopes, they had to go, no. This is true because people were checking Snopes going, is this real? It’s real.

Sam [00:29:57]:

I’m I’m reading, yeah, I’m on a website called New New Yorkmag.com and, and last January at a gun show in Las Vegas, the guy demonstrated it. And he goes, it fits the kids really well. That’ll give him the confidence to hold this thing they wait that the way they should have confidence holding it. it says long guns have been around for years. They use a single shot or little shotguns. but this is a semi automatic.

Chris [00:30:29]:

Yeah. real bullets. We’re not talking BBs here. We’re not talking — Who is supposed to —

Sam [00:30:36]:

Wait. Wait. When are they when are they supposed to have it?

Chris [00:30:39]:

So it’s, for under fives.

Sam [00:30:43]:

no. No. This is we’re in some sort of no. If you’re up, have you been crazy, right? Hang on. Have you been a five year old? You’ll be pleased

Chris [00:30:54]:

because there’s a couple of states that are, talking about banning the advertising of it. because you can’t ban the making of it and you can’t ban the selling of it but you can ban the advertising to kids because that’s what they’re doing. They’re advertising it to kids. Who are, before preschool age?

Sam [00:31:17]:

Adam, I don’t know how old your kids are, but can you just imagine giving them a sort semi automatic rifle? it says here that once they’re trained in it, they’ll be okay. Like, they all they have to do is pull the trigger once, and they’re gonna go,

Chris [00:31:31]:

Yeah. Oh my gosh. So no. One of the things that does have is like but it’s got an extra safety on the other side of the gun. Yeah. That that’ll take the 5 minutes to work that shit out.

Sam [00:31:47]:

Oh my gosh.

Chris [00:31:50]:

Yeah.

Sam [00:31:51]:

I I I’m blown away with it.

Chris [00:31:57]:

Yeah. Yeah. I thought you’d I thought that was, that would get you. It’s so stupid.

Sam [00:32:04]:

Okay. That that brings us to the end of the podcast, and that’ll give you something to think about. No doubt.

Chris [00:32:12]:

Oh, actually, there’s one other thing I I will mention. k. So I am this this Sunday I’m going to improv again.

Sam [00:32:21]:

Yes.

Chris [00:32:22]:

And, I have there’s a thing saying, improv combat. If you click on that on the Okay. so there’s a poster there. So, hopefully, if I’m good enough, I’ll be in the all sorts improv combat So I used to go to this. It was at the media when I used to live down by the media. Yeah. And you go along and, you know, they got 2 teams. It’s very much whose line is it anyway type thing? Oh, okay. You’ve seen the improv. But, yeah, they they score them 2 teams and Can anybody enter? Like, you just go rock up, or do you have to Well, I got invited because I’d done that stuff. Oh, yeah. Yeah. That’s yeah. Sorry. That’s good. And and it was Jamie then invited me, actually, because he’s he’s in it, and that’s how I met him. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Awesome. So, yeah, so, it starts in September, and it’s every second, Sunday to every second. Oh, yeah. Okay. For a few weeks. 6 weeks, 6 weeks. And so it’s 15 bucks to go along. It’s it’s it’s great fun. It’s a good laugh. I used to go just to to watch. and then, or you can pay 60 bucks and you go for the whole season. Season. Yeah.

Sam [00:33:33]:

Oh, okay. That’s pretty cool. So you’ll have so when when you go, you’ll be with one team, hopefully,

Chris [00:33:40]:

working your way up or through the — Yeah. Well, I haven’t met anybody there yet. So Sunday will be because they they I think they’ve been going for a a few weeks, but I only found out that the other week, and I I couldn’t go last Sunday, because they had something I saw. Oh, are they doing sort of practices and getting people together then? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. That Oh, that makes sense because you’ll wanna they might go actually, you know, what you’re better with those three people. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah. We’ve gotta work out. Those are the the four people in the poster 14 captains and they’ve — Yeah. — I’ll pick people. There’s about 60, 70 in the group. Like, it’s on a Facebook group. So — Oh, wow. I don’t know if we can get in or not. but I’m gonna give it a crack. And, hopefully, I’ll be, performing at the improv combat in September, October.

Sam [00:34:28]:

Nice. That’s cool. I I will keep you updated. We will we will have updates about that. Okay.

Chris [00:34:35]:

The the the last one that I was supposed to go to was the surge, same day surgical precision was screening, so I couldn’t Now welcome welcome to my life. Chris, everything happens on the same day. It doesn’t matter it doesn’t matter what it is. Somebody will be going, hey, what are you doing in 7 month time. I got invited to 2 birthday parties, and they’re both on the same — Yep. — day at the same time. Like, that’s my 2 for the whole year. And you The same time is even worse.
