Sam [00:00:21]:
Hello, and welcome to episode 446 of the Chris and Sam podcast.
Chris [00:00:26]:
I’m Chris.
Sam [00:00:27]:
And I’m Sam. Welcome along to your weekly fix a randomness technology in life and Man, we got some good feedback this week, Chris. Yeah? Feedback from our listeners. Yes. So first off, Brett Brett was chuckling to himself. He was like telling me that he, had listened to the latest podcast episode, and he was laughing away. And I didn’t know what he was gonna be laughing about, but he, he thought it was quite humorous when we were talking about that one hundred and one year old woman that died. I mean,
Chris [00:00:58]:
he’s a 102, isn’t he? He’s pretty
Sam [00:01:01]:
he’s pretty close to it. So I’m assuming that’s why. Yeah. And then, Adam, Adam, came and, I don’t know if you’ve seen this company. Yeah.
Chris [00:01:12]:
I did see that.
Sam [00:01:13]:
I’ll read it because it’s it’s the best. As you know, I will state, putting together a 30 minute, podcast every week. It takes a lot of prep. Like, there’s a lot going into it. I mean, we meet up somehow via Zoom or in person, and, That’s about it, really. But, Adam said, I love your commitment to never fact checking your stories. Never change. I did.
Chris [00:01:39]:
Yeah. I know. I read that. I was like, I don’t know. What it was
Sam [00:01:44]:
I thought it was gonna be you, and then, it was me. It’s not a threat.
Chris [00:01:49]:
Why would you assume it was me? Anyway, carry on.
Sam [00:01:51]:
I don’t know.
Chris [00:01:52]:
We all know why you assume it was me.
Sam [00:01:55]:
If you care, the new Liam Nissan firm is not a taken sequel. I will say I only just saw a glimpse of the end of the ad movie TV ad for it. It’s not a taken sequel. He’s a completely different grumpy old man and doesn’t kill a single person. The firm was called retribution, and his particular set of skills are embezzling money from hedge funds and being framed for car bombing a bunch of due. So, I mean, I don’t know if I wanna see it now. If he’s not gonna say the line, What’s the point?
Chris [00:02:27]:
It’s cool. That that is hilarious. Because you totally sold me on. I just assumed it was another taken because —
Sam [00:02:33]:
Me too. I I sold myself on it. I it’s Adam. I like it when, our listeners, let us know.
Chris [00:02:41]:
Yeah. Give us some feedback, at least. That’s cool. I’ve I’ve had a really busy week, so I’m gonna run through a few things that happened this week. Just, yeah, let you know what’s going on.
Sam [00:02:51]:
Okay.
Chris [00:02:52]:
We’ll start with improv comp. I’m gonna do this just in chronological order. Are you still there? You just yes.
Sam [00:02:58]:
Okay. Cool. Somehow the video turned dot carry on Yes.
Chris [00:03:01]:
Yep. So, MPog combat did our first show. Jamie and I were, in it. So we, performed on Sunday. That went really well. You’ll laugh at the one person I had to play in a party scene. So you’ve got those party scenes where the host doesn’t know who the best are. Yeah.
Sam [00:03:19]:
So you know, you gotta,
Chris [00:03:20]:
yeah, you gotta play a part and we had 5 guests and, 2 of them were quirks. So one guy was, you if you break eye contact with him, he bursts into flames. Oh. It’s quick. It was pretty intense, actually.
Sam [00:03:35]:
That’d be pretty good, actually.
Chris [00:03:36]:
It was funny. Yes. I’ve I’ve forgot. Oh, yeah, sort of two quirks. It was one inanimate object, which he actually was a, slinky and then 2 carrots. It’s two people. And I was one of them, and I was Joe Biden.
Sam [00:03:52]:
Oh, I think you’re gonna say Donald Trump.
Chris [00:03:54]:
No. No. I think Trump might have been easier, but — Yeah. Wouldn’t wait. I don’t know. I just Did the old thing? And then I tripped over a sandbag. I thought for sure that would work.
Sam [00:04:03]:
No. That could have been anything.
Chris [00:04:05]:
And I’m like, it’s a sandbag. And she had no clue. But, got got it in the end. No. It was good. It was good time. I had a lot of fun, this my solo stuff went really well as opposed to I’m not that great with groups. I I’ve just needed more practice. When we’re up there in this thing, you’ve gotta really know what everybody else is doing. Say, it’s cool. But our team 1, the business investment trust company Hamilton which is our team.
Sam [00:04:33]:
Of course. That makes sense. It sounds like you’re sponsored by them.
Chris [00:04:37]:
Yeah. Business investment tax company Hampton. Yep. Oh, and by the way, it is kid friendly. So when you had the youngest people in the audience were like 8, I think, or something like that. So, I it’s on every Sunday for the next few weeks. I’m back on, 17th September 15th October. And my next team dates, my dates my team’s playing, but I’m gonna be going and supporting every week. So, call out to anybody in the Waikato area that wants to, because it’s a lot of fun. So, yeah, it’s on, at the media on Sundays. So that was cool. And then, Not last night, night before, Hamilton. I gotta have a shout out to to Anna. And her sister Laura, and I will be listening to this. And, is she a
Sam [00:05:26]:
new listener to the podcast? Yes. Hello. Welcome.
Chris [00:05:30]:
Also known as myth lady.
Sam [00:05:32]:
— Okay. Don’t let us put you off.
Chris [00:05:36]:
She made some she was just sat next to me, and she made some, you know, shouted out a few things. And that ended up being her nickname from the stage for the rest of the night, Myth lady, which was hilarious. Now Anna Anna was good good good laugh, and they were there to support tier, who was the first timer who, you know, went on stage for the first time. And Tier did an amazing job. In fact, Tier and this other girl, Kate, they both had a first time. Kate was, pretty gutsy because she goes on stage and she says, I’m a martian. I’m not really human and does this whole thing, which is a fancy move. You know what I mean? I just pulled it off. It was really good. I actually think that That night, the Hamilton was the best ever. Oh. It was not quite it’s it’s not the fullest. It was it’d be busy. But the the the x themselves, fantastic. The MC was great. I love Joel. He’s the, he’s the, headliner. I I was looking forward to seeing having didn’t disappoint. Yeah. No. That was fantastic. So that was at Navarro Lounge. Every, 1st Wednesday of each month. I am going I’ve I’ve pushed, yeah, I’ve put the stamp of approval on it. I’ve told everybody I am for some of approval. I don’t know what the word is. I’ve committed is probably what I meant. I’ve committed. So first, no, 1st for, Wednesday of November, I will be doing my debut, stand up debut. Okay. So that’s cool.
Sam [00:07:14]:
So that’s the 1st November.
Chris [00:07:16]:
1st Wednesday in November. Right?
Sam [00:07:18]:
Which is the which is the 1st November.
Chris [00:07:20]:
Okay. Yeah. Okay. I haven’t even looked. I just Yeah. So that’s, yeah, so that was really good. It was awesome. So that’s the Navarro lounge. And then last night, it was at Navarro lounge again. So
Sam [00:07:32]:
Oh, yeah. Yeah. How was that?
Chris [00:07:34]:
Yeah. So at Hamilton. I’m sitting next to Anna. So I’m sitting on the end, Anna and her sister Laura sit next to me, And the sky comes over and says, hello. And just pauses and looks at me, and I’m like, Hello?
Sam [00:07:51]:
Yeah. That’s a good start.
Chris [00:07:52]:
And then I recognized him. It was Derek. Derek.
Sam [00:07:55]:
Oh, yeah.
Chris [00:07:56]:
How do
Sam [00:07:56]:
you go ahead, Bryce? It’s amazing.
Chris [00:07:58]:
I I don’t know. I don’t know. Yeah. It took me it took me a second or 2. It’s hilarious. He goes, yeah, I don’t wanna interrupt or anything. Know, like I was with the girls.
Sam [00:08:08]:
Yeah. Yeah.
Chris [00:08:11]:
But, yeah, just sort of say hello. I’ll I’ll see you tomorrow night. So I was like, oh, cool. That’d be good because back in the viral lounge tomorrow night. So, he didn’t show up. So, Derek, if you’re listening to this, we need to catch up.
Sam [00:08:25]:
Derek’s a busy man. So the thing last night was a networking event. Correct?
Chris [00:08:31]:
So it was for, Misty Flicks Labs.
Sam [00:08:35]:
That’s right.
Chris [00:08:36]:
And it is the, it was a film making event, and I met some new people, had a bulb, there was about there was at least forty people there, last night, which was really cool. So I was pretty impressed with that.
Sam [00:08:50]:
Yeah. That’s cool.
Chris [00:08:51]:
And, yeah, they had jumped on stage here a few things, but, yeah, I met some new people. We’re gonna set up a, once a month, Friday lunch meeting for a few people in that film, environment and do that. Nice a lot. Yeah. Yeah. So, anyway, that’s sort of my week. I just thought I’d I’d run through, some of those things.
Sam [00:09:16]:
The the podcast listeners are enthralled, Chris. We spent a third of our,
Chris [00:09:21]:
you know, so
Sam [00:09:22]:
learning about what you’ve been up to.
Chris [00:09:25]:
So I I end up I’m I’m the health and safety officer for Misty Flex. I don’t know
Sam [00:09:31]:
if I can do that. Yeah. You know, you did mention.
Chris [00:09:32]:
And, so I ended up telling the story last night. And then, well, yeah, Adam, we’re telling the story about, how Adam filmed me driving a car Adam, and I was told not to hit the brakes and and the hedge that was between us only just stopped the car from hitting him and like,
Sam [00:09:49]:
good times.
Chris [00:09:50]:
Good times. So that was a good choice. Yeah. Anyway,
Sam [00:09:55]:
real briefly, I had to, I was in Radware for 2 days. I had to shoot up to Auckland and pick up my Auntie and my cousin’s daughter that just flown in from the UK for 3 weeks. So,
Chris [00:10:08]:
— Oh, wow. —
Sam [00:10:10]:
drove up with the whole family, and then, drove all the way back with them. Auckland Airport is a missed international at the moment. They’re building a giant hotel. I think right next to the terminal, like, really close. So you’ve got to go through about 50, shipping containers, those walkway things. Yeah, so it’s pretty good. They’re looking forward to having a look around. My auntie was here last 17 years ago, And then, Madison, she’s 18. She’s never been in a plane before, so this is the first time.
Chris [00:10:41]:
Wow.
Sam [00:10:42]:
And, yeah. So she she’s everything’s amazing to her. Like, just everything says. It’s pretty funny. So, anyway, that’s what I’ve been up to and then straight into work last night so I couldn’t make it to that event.
Chris [00:10:55]:
Yeah.
Sam [00:10:55]:
Yeah. And, here we are. You
Chris [00:10:57]:
called. Cool. Cool. I wanted to mention this. Think about the there’s a new discovery inside the great pyramid. Now, you would think that they would have figured this out. Everything there is to figure out about the the great pyramid, right?
Sam [00:11:12]:
That must be why there’s those memes going around. Carry on.
Chris [00:11:16]:
I don’t know about those. You can tell me in a second if if this hits the mark. But anyway, some scientists have used muons. To —
Sam [00:11:25]:
For what now?
Chris [00:11:26]:
Nuance. So nuance are a — I’ve never
Sam [00:11:29]:
heard that word.
Chris [00:11:30]:
Oh, okay. I I think, I think Isn’t you Nuance are in a couple of sci fi games like muon guns, but, they they’re, particles that, fired out at the speed of light from, I forget what event like a black hole blowing I suppose — Oh, okay. Yes.
Sam [00:11:50]:
Then they do the aging thing, isn’t it?
Chris [00:11:53]:
No. No. That’s another one.
Sam [00:11:55]:
Okay. Caron.
Chris [00:11:56]:
Another particle, but similar sort of thing. But muons are are this specific particle, and they they, fly through stuff, and they’re flying all the time. And in the past, scientists have used it to, look outward as we’re looking at to space, yeah, understanding things from the path of the neurons or or something, I can’t remember. But there’s they tried this new thing where they’re effectively using muons like an X-ray. Yes. And, studying how the great pyramid is affected, and they found it’s got a secret passage that nobody’s heard about. A secret passage in a chamber. Effectively, by x raying the permit,
Sam [00:12:38]:
Yeah.
Chris [00:12:39]:
In in the, with these muons, which I just thought was, fascinating. So I’ve got a link to a a little short video. So, obviously, there’s nothing really for me to say there, but we’ll throw that link into the, into the —
Sam [00:12:52]:
That’s cool.
Chris [00:12:52]:
— the thing and and check it out. CLEo, it’s another CLEo Abrams thing. Clio’s my mum my my girl on, YouTube. She’s awesome. She’s a, like, a scientist, like a Michelle Dickinson. Type thing.
Sam [00:13:05]:
Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I said to have a look.
Chris [00:13:07]:
Yeah. Yeah. So she’s really cool. She always had some good stuff. I I watch a lot of her videos. Anyway, I thought it was interesting. And, and and Sam’s learned a new word and nuance.
Sam [00:13:19]:
Yeah. That’s right. I’ll be sure to use that, somewhere. I was gonna say, we spoke about India landing on the moon, Big news. They, straight away, launch one to the sun now. We’ve got another one going to the sun that’s gonna do some research up there. And the Russian The r when the Russians fail, the guy ended up in hospital and then died from mushroom poisoning. How convenient?
Chris [00:13:50]:
Damn. Actually, I haven’t even got this written down, but I’ve just seen this on the news. So there’s a bunch of human trafficking issues going on at the moment, that Cuba’s complaining about where Russia’s, human trafficking people from Cuba to fight Ukraine. Basically, they’re going, come to Russia, get a job as a chef. You can get a job for $2000 a month, which is more than a dot to make some Cuba. Right?
Sam [00:14:17]:
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Chris [00:14:18]:
Okay. And so they they go over and they give them a gun and say, front line there you go.
Sam [00:14:25]:
Oh, no. They must know. Oh, no.
Chris [00:14:28]:
Yeah, later now because, every it’s a it’s big news everybody knows what it’s going on, but a lot of people apparently, all these people have said, no, I was lied to. That’s not what I thought I was here for.
Sam [00:14:39]:
Yeah.
Chris [00:14:39]:
Yeah.
Sam [00:14:40]:
So this did you hear about the Napier knitting group?
Chris [00:14:45]:
No. It’s not really in my, calendar of things that
Sam [00:14:50]:
I keep. No. No. No. Of course. That’s right. If it was local, of course, but, you know, napier, too far afield, especially when you don’t have a car. Yeah, So these people at Good George, I’m assuming that they had some young person that was taking the bookings and didn’t know anything. So this napier knitting group made a booking for twelve person table on a Tuesday, not really known as the busiest night of the week in most pubs. Right?
Chris [00:15:16]:
Right.
Sam [00:15:16]:
And they were gonna get together and then return, later in the month as well. It’s a newly organized social night. They’re gonna eat drink knit together. Somehow a staff member on the Monday learned that the booking was for a group that would be bringing their knitting equipment. And they replied and said, that’s not the vibe we’re going for. So we’ve canceled your booking. And the woman goes, I never specified we were a group of nesses, because I didn’t think we’d have to, and she reassured the staff member that we would be eating and drinking. We’re not gonna just be lurking in the corner. And they said, the staff member says, you’re welcome to come if you want to eat and drink, but you’re not welcome to knit. So she posted it publicly, and then, obviously, Good George Napier Taphouse have realized the error of their ways. Oh, good. We’ve connected, and we’ve come to a good resolution. We didn’t want to offend anybody, and we’re still a new business finding our feet. And I was like, you either want people in your bar or you don’t.
Chris [00:16:22]:
That is the dumbest thing because if they came up, like, if if I was a bar owner and, you know, I’ve I’ve managed bars, or being a duty manager and put it that way. And somebody in a group came in and all started knitting, I would be taking photos of that shit that would be memed all over
Sam [00:16:40]:
the place.
Chris [00:16:41]:
That would you could come up with some gold out
Sam [00:16:44]:
of that. Exactly. And it’s on a Tuesday night. Like, they they — Yeah. It’s not here. Exactly.
Chris [00:16:48]:
—
Sam [00:16:49]:
be going at, you know, Friday night, Saturday night.
Chris [00:16:52]:
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. 100%. 100%. So
Sam [00:16:55]:
that’s crazy. They found a new fossil that’s, excited scientists. Do you know how, excited they get about things? It’s a rare tropic bird fossil that they found in North Canterbury, and it’s potentially gonna turn the historical records on its head, and they’re gonna say that this bird potentially originated in Zalandia back in the day and not the northern hemisphere as previously thought. So they found this really intact
Chris [00:17:28]:
So they thought it started there
Sam [00:17:30]:
and
Chris [00:17:30]:
migrated to us, but it’s the other
Sam [00:17:32]:
way around. And I found this really, really intact fossil. And they’re like, oh, we think it’s going to, Yeah.
Chris [00:17:42]:
Actually, that makes a lot of sense to me. We we would we we have bird life is our thing. Maybe we just exported birds everywhere. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know what I mean? Like, you you go through anywhere in New Zealand. There are just birds everywhere because there’s no other predators or actually. It was bigger or —
Sam [00:18:05]:
Yeah. Probably is. Right?
Chris [00:18:07]:
So, yeah, we that that makes sense. Hadn’t thought of that. Actually, that reminds me of something else I I saw this week. There’s a type of worm that has been known for a long time and it it goes into like a severe sort of, hibernation. They’ve they’ve been frozen. And they they’ve, revived them. So previously, the one that they they revived one that had been frozen for 9 years. And brought it back to life. They’ve done this other one, forty six thousand year old worm. And they brought it back
Sam [00:18:46]:
to us. This is how we are going to die from the diseases and stuff. No. Because they’re unlocking So see. Yeah.
Chris [00:18:55]:
Oh, yeah. I haven’t seen it. I got a lot of
Sam [00:18:58]:
stuff that’s frozen in the ice shelf. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It’s going to be
Chris [00:19:03]:
Well, no, there there’s climate change. We we we’re unlocking bubonic plagues and all sorts of stuff, will be, unfrozen. It’ll be great. What could go wrong? What could go wrong, Sam?
Sam [00:19:14]:
Nothing. And when it does, we’ll still be here pumping out podcast episodes. Your listing pleasure as you hide in your underground bunker. Don’t worry. We’ll be at all bunker listening posts somehow. That’d be a thing.
Chris [00:19:30]:
Hey. Have you because I don’t normally see ads, but I’ve I’ve I I watched the I finished watching the traffic. —
Sam [00:19:36]:
in rotorua for, like, 2 days or what being bombarded with its ads. Carry on.
Chris [00:19:41]:
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I I I will give a yell out for that traitors, tvnz traders, I —
Sam [00:19:48]:
my sister’s really into that. Yes.
Chris [00:19:51]:
Yeah. Yeah. It’s finished now. Like, the final one was the other day. So —
Sam [00:19:54]:
She’s been watching the UK version as well.
Chris [00:19:58]:
Yeah. I haven’t I saw it was there. I’m like, I don’t wanna get into it because it’s too it’s it’s too much. I don’t wanna get into it, but it’s worth watching the, easy on one, because it’ll be on on demand. It’s 3 on demand or whatever. But, yeah, it’s smoke free 2025. Have you seen that, Anne? So, apparently, New Zealand’s going to be smoke free by 2025. That’s the day.
Sam [00:20:19]:
Yeah. They’ve been banging on that for ages, I think.
Chris [00:20:23]:
Yes. It’s coming up, though. And I was just like, so at the comedy club the other night, like, at the end of the night, all these gradients and and people, running outside to have a cigarette?
Sam [00:20:34]:
Actual cigarette, will they be?
Chris [00:20:37]:
Actual cigarettes, I think. Yeah. Most of them. Yeah. I I mean, because I’ve never smoked. So it it I I do tend to forget that people smoke, but it seems I just Prohibition never freaking works.
Sam [00:20:53]:
No. They’re just gonna they’re just aren’t they getting rid of all tobacco products? That’s the gist of it, I think. And then only
Chris [00:20:59]:
Yeah. I know, but it doesn’t work. It never works. Prohibition doesn’t work.
Sam [00:21:03]:
No. It’ll be fine. I gotta go to these baby things. We’ve got 2 actually, there’s a countdown. 2 years, 3 months 23 days as of this recording. Thank you, smoke free, Alta. I I just
Chris [00:21:17]:
I mean, I like, don’t get me wrong. This is this is my bad point. You can when and we can debate it, but but, basically, it’s like, these things should be available. I, I understand if you tax the crap out of them, And but I think they should be put together in a way that’s responsible and available. If you prohibit things, then it becomes black market, and there are no controls over anyone. Once you prohibit it, there’s no more controls. Right? So at the moment, the you can’t sell them in dairies, under 16s, or whatever it is. And, you know, you can’t do this advertising, all the rest of whereas with drugs, you can sell them to anyone because it’s all illegal. If we’d had the referendum, I reckon there’d be less drug problems than there is now. And, like, cigarettes are legal. I don’t smoke even though they’re legal. You’re better off educating people why they shouldn’t smoke rather than making it legal. Like, it just does not make sense to me. I don’t think —
Sam [00:22:25]:
So nearly 85% of New Zealand is a smoke free according to this website, and their goal is to go less than 5% by
Chris [00:22:33]:
Sam [00:22:35]:
All I want them to do is not have them at the supermarket because every time I go to the supermarket, the person in front of me wants to buy cigarettes, which involves I want a pack of whatever. I want a pack of 25 Winfields, whatever. So then that person has to signal the supervisor. The supervisor has to go get them, they have to bring it over, and the whole time I’m just standing there. And they’re like, it’s interesting because I always look at their total, like, it’s, like, 40 some
Chris [00:23:02]:
$47
Sam [00:23:04]:
for a packet of smokes. And I’m just like
Chris [00:23:06]:
When when fields were $3.86 when mom and the dairy? Because,
Sam [00:23:12]:
I just I’m just like, I don’t even know how these people are reporting to smoke.
Chris [00:23:19]:
Anyway, I have not.
Sam [00:23:21]:
You’re crazy. Let’s hope they reach that goal. We’ll, update this in 2025. I’m sure there’ll be story about it. What are the gay Ukrainian super soldiers up to?
Chris [00:23:32]:
It it’s it’s more it’s it’s more the, Russian mind, what do you call it, propaganda stuff. And they they’re talking about, this is, like, not just some random. This is Putin spokesman, his his top adviser, has made the claims that new the US is using brainwashing to make Ukrainian soldiers gay because that makes them super soldiers. And I’m like, I think I think I think your propaganda’s a bit screwed up because you’re basically saying the gays are better than —
Sam [00:24:09]:
I was hoping Like, there was a whole battalion of fabulous, muscly men dressed in pink and rainbow flags running around. Is there?
Chris [00:24:19]:
Actually, now you reminded me there is, a really good quote. So this has been, this is in the lgbtq nation,
Sam [00:24:28]:
a good site.
Chris [00:24:29]:
And there was this really good quote because they keep going on about, the spartans. Right? So, Suji Sergei Marikov, Markov, former advisor to Putin said this in Russian TV. So, quote, Military theorists and historians know which army in Greece was the strongest. Remember the spartans, they were united by a homosexual brotherhood. They’re all homos. These were the politics of their leadership. I think they’re planning the same for Ukraine’s armed forces, unquote.
Sam [00:25:01]:
Okay. Right?
Chris [00:25:02]:
So I it’s not me saying this. Alright. But what I liked here was really cool. There is some this is just, from this article. There is some historical evidence to suggest that the spartans of Asian Greece may have been encouraged homosexuality as a way to encourage soldiers to stay in the military and fight for their part of his lives. So cohesiveness. The, evidence also suggests that Spartan soldiers were expected to age out of such activities after completing a suits nature of the military career. So it’s, you know, it’s sort of something that was part of the the culture, I guess. But I did not know this, but this is interesting. The most famous gay military force in Asian re in ancient Greece was actually not spartan, but the sacred sacred band of thieves.
Sam [00:25:55]:
Okay.
Chris [00:25:56]:
An elite military force deliberately comprised of a 150 gay or bisexual couples. That defeated the spartans and murdered both Spartan kings in a single campaign.
Sam [00:26:09]:
Okay.
Chris [00:26:10]:
There’s a movie there. It probably is. It
Sam [00:26:13]:
probably is. But it’s crazy. Like, it’s, like, the Russians just have to try and grasp at straws because they don’t have the people. Like, they, you know, they’re grabbing them from Cuba. They got this random propaganda. They’re killing the dude that, you know, couldn’t get the thing — Legosa.
Chris [00:26:31]:
—
Sam [00:26:31]:
couldn’t land on the moon. Damn it.
Chris [00:26:34]:
Oh, yeah. Yeah.
Sam [00:26:35]:
Those — It’s a tough place to be. It’s a tough. I don’t I don’t know. Anyway, that brings us to the end of this podcast, this week, I have, I don’t know, work and then potentially sightseeing with the relatives maybe. Not sure what’s going on.
Chris [00:26:52]:
Oh, yes. You’re gonna show them some of the new z museums around New Zealand?
Sam [00:26:57]:
No. I think I think they’re coming over to Hamilton Gardens at some point. So because, actually, last week, Luke came up from Bulls. And, he messaged me, and he says, I’m at Hamilton Gonzalez. I was like, sweet. And he says to me, I said, where are you? And he goes, oh, I’m in the, enclosed gardens next to a pool of water. Okay. I was like, can you take a
Chris [00:27:22]:
— There’d be the modernist —
Sam [00:27:24]:
No. No. No. But there’s there’s pulls everywhere. Like, even, you know, so I said, can you take a photo of a sign when you see it? Oh, okay. So that’s all good. Take a photo, and then I found him. Then we went it was him, his wife, and his 4 kids, and, wandered around and around, and he goes, oh, I didn’t realize how big this place was, and I didn’t understand why you wanted the sign? Because he goes, I just thought it was just one thing. I was like, no. No. No. No. And he and their funny thing was, he goes, I don’t think we would have seen most of these gardens if you hadn’t taken us around because that’s — Yeah. I mean, you if if you don’t have the map, Have you been there recently? Oh, with the
Chris [00:28:07]:
— Yeah. Yeah. That was last week. And and there’s a lot of works going on at the moment. So,
Sam [00:28:12]:
yeah, yeah,
Chris [00:28:13]:
makes it even harder to figure out how to get around. Middle of
Sam [00:28:16]:
next year, they’re gonna be finished, apparently.
Chris [00:28:18]:
Are they ever finished? Or just, just those main buildings
Sam [00:28:22]:
and the, entrance. Yeah. So
Chris [00:28:25]:
yeah. Cool. Cool. Sweet. Headline of the week. I’ll just go through this because I thought it was hilarious. And and I really don’t want to go through the article. Just hit
Sam [00:28:35]:
the line.
Chris [00:28:38]:
Okay. The National Security Agency of America. NSA orders employees to spy on the world with, quote, dignity and respect.
Sam [00:28:48]:
Okay. Take take that as you will. Yep.
Chris [00:28:56]:
I have no idea what this most of me, but it’s got some privacy advocates up in arms. So anyway — Okay. Well,
Sam [00:29:04]:
until next time, I’m Sam.
Chris [00:29:06]:
I’m Chris.
Sam [00:29:07]:
See you.
Chris [00:29:08]:
