Hello, and welcome to episode it’s 465 of the Christmas ham podcast. Chris. And I’m Sam. Welcome along to your weekly fix of talking about Christmas hams. Is that what we do?

Chris [00:00:34]:
That’s that’s what Brent that’s what Brent thinks we do.

Sam [00:00:38]:
I’ve got a ham in the back of my car right now, Chris, And I know you don’t eat it, so it’ll be weird. You’ll just have to dump tell everyone how it smells, I guess.

Chris [00:00:45]:
Yeah. Yeah. So I’m just gonna explain what that was all about. So, Brent, who is both of our landlords or the

Sam [00:00:53]:
Property manager.

Chris [00:00:54]:
Property manager for for both of our places.

Sam [00:00:56]:
He’s a good dude.

Chris [00:00:56]:
Yeah. Nice guy. He popped around and got, you know, flat chris and me the other day. And as he’s walking through, we were talking, and he was in front of The. And so I was sort of behind you know how you just don’t hear things right. Anyway, he goes, and I said, oh, you know, I’ve got a podcast because he he asked, Oh, do you catch up with the guys in your street? Oh, yeah. And I was like, yeah. Yeah.

Chris [00:01:19]:
We we have a podcast. We do that all the time. He goes, a podcast? Really? And he and he started going around to the Next room. And I was like, yeah. It’s the Chris and Sam podcast. And he thought I said The Christmas ham podcast, which, I thought it was hilarious. And when I told Sam, he’s like, maybe that’s what we should’ve done.

Sam [00:01:40]:
But he knows both of our names. Like, it’s not he’s not getting a 100% cold.

Chris [00:01:45]:
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, anyway, that’s cool. I I gave him a fridge magnet, So he and and he’s gonna check it out. So if you’re listening, Brent, welcome along.

Sam [00:01:54]:
Welcome along.

Chris [00:01:55]:
But he’s never listened to a podcast before.

Sam [00:01:58]:
That surprises me because he’s right into the business y stuff. Yeah. Yeah. Thought he would’ve. There’s a lot of great podcasts out there. There’s some crappy ones too. There’s a lot of, literally, have a look through the search thing on your podcast app or whatever. There’ll be some really cool stuff out there that you’ll love, Brent.

Chris [00:02:14]:
Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. So, although, I think he won’t be looking at a podcast app. He will be going to the website and listening to us on the website, I think that’s a little bit of it.

Sam [00:02:25]:
Oh, no. That’s that’s an option. Fine. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We we do that.

Chris [00:02:28]:
He’s probably already listened to last week’s one. Yep. And whether he gets around to listening to this one, we’ll never know.

Sam [00:02:34]:
Because I’m pretty sure your I think it’s your mom, my mom. I think think my sister used a podcast app maybe. Here’s a couple of people that use the website. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Chris [00:02:44]:
And, speaking of my mom, I I didn’t mention this the other I I don’t know how to say The.

Sam [00:02:51]:
Okay. I got

Chris [00:02:51]:
a message from mom Yeah. That she she loves my Compelling communicator newsletter.

Sam [00:02:58]:
That’s cool.

Chris [00:02:59]:
And she prints them all out, and she’s got a ring binder with the cover on it.

Sam [00:03:02]:
Oh my god. That’s such a mom thing.

Chris [00:03:04]:
She’s such

Sam [00:03:04]:
a mom change.

Chris [00:03:05]:
She presses out

Sam [00:03:06]:
and puts

Chris [00:03:06]:
the pen, and it slips on her on her, coffee table, and people come around and read it, she says.

Sam [00:03:14]:
I didn’t know she was just I didn’t know

Chris [00:03:16]:
she was

Sam [00:03:16]:
subscribed to

Chris [00:03:17]:
it. I didn’t know. Actually, I think I didn’t know she subscribed The.

Sam [00:03:21]:
Ultimate backup, Though, if something goes wrong and you lose everything, she has the hard copies.

Chris [00:03:26]:
Just I’ve just I’ve just, rebranded everything this weekend. That’s right. Sam, if you’re listening, don’t don’t reprint everything. All I’ve done is change the coloring of all the things.

Sam [00:03:37]:
Yeah. Yeah.

Chris [00:03:40]:
Anyway, I thought that was that that’s sort of sweet. But anyway, that’s cool.

Sam [00:03:43]:
So this week, we’re brought to you by MogiMogu.

Chris [00:03:45]:
MogiMogu.

Sam [00:03:47]:
Which is a, I’m gonna

Chris [00:03:48]:
have another sip and 2 of chris.

Sam [00:03:50]:
Yep. It’s a little drink, made in Thailand, and it’s the one that you have to chew because it has pieces of, soft, coconut in it. I quite like it. I brought it along, sir, Chris ever

Chris [00:04:03]:
ever. Just having my first taste of it. It’s, This one’s a mango one

Sam [00:04:07]:
Yep.

Chris [00:04:07]:
Which is quite nice.

Sam [00:04:08]:
That that is pretty good. The other one

Chris [00:04:10]:
pretty good.

Sam [00:04:10]:
There’s a lychee one, which I don’t wanna touch.

Chris [00:04:13]:
Be alright.

Sam [00:04:13]:
And I’m panning The in general. Strawberry one.

Chris [00:04:16]:
Quite sweet, though.

Sam [00:04:17]:
Yeah. So anyway, check it out if you, see it in your travels. And if you’re listening, Mogu Mogu people, send me a box. Yeah. Because because what will happen is we’ll write the show notes and write and write it in there. So eventually, with they’re doing Google searches on who’s talking about their product, That’s how we get discovered.

Chris [00:04:36]:
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So that’s the plan. Speaking of getting discovered by who’s talking about your product Okay. I did wanna mention, we’ve talked about this off flying. I don’t think we talked about it here. The rabbit

Sam [00:04:47]:
Yeah. We talked about offline.

Chris [00:04:49]:
Yeah. Yeah. The rabbit r one. So it it’s just interesting because they’ve put out this thing here. Did you know the Rabbit sold out 50,000 devices in 10 days?

Sam [00:05:04]:
Oh, really? So we we talked about it when we heard

Chris [00:05:07]:
Heard about it. Right. Yeah. Okay. So the Rabbit r one, so it’s an AI that most AI is Generative, large language model that is focused on giving you some information, Like, figuring out the next, piece the word next word to say to create language or whatever. This one’s, I I forgot what they call it now. On a large action model or something, they called it something like that.

Sam [00:05:38]:
Think so.

Chris [00:05:39]:
And, basically, it’s it’s To make things happen. So the other and sort of tells you about what it’s gonna do. This one can actually do stuff. So And so you can ask it to, do something.

Sam [00:05:51]:
It’s a standalone device. Yeah. It’s a little

Chris [00:05:53]:
So The pocket thing. This, model isn’t being run-in this odd looking device.

Sam [00:06:00]:
Yeah. Yeah.

Chris [00:06:00]:
That’s pretty cool, though, and you can do a whole bunch of different things. And so is that CES, right, The commune consumer electronics show in Yeah. In, Las Vegas? Yep. Yeah. Las Vegas. And so yeah. So it was launched there, and I said to Sam, hey. Have you seen this thing? And Sam went, Yeah.

Chris [00:06:19]:
It’s a load of crap. I was like, oh, okay. And then, so we had a bit of a a a chat about it on on Telegram, I think. And then, yeah, and then I came across this, and they’ve sold out 50,000 devices in 10 days, which It’s way better than I expected. Oh, these devices, by the way, I think sam was and.

Sam [00:06:40]:
It’s $200, which seems reasonably cheap. Yeah. The question a lot of people have is they want to see, like, a nonstop video of it actually working.

Chris [00:06:49]:
Yeah. How long does the battery last

Sam [00:06:50]:
for a year and and,

Chris [00:06:52]:
you know, Help me think because it really does look like, at this point, a toy.

Sam [00:06:56]:
It does look like a toy, and and it’s sort of like another device that you may have to carry around with you, where people were just saying, that should just be baked into Siri. So maybe that is the gameplay that this guy is this company is doing. As I said, we built this and

Chris [00:07:09]:
how that model would make more sense to be you know, monetize the model

Sam [00:07:13]:
Yeah. Yeah.

Chris [00:07:14]:
Yeah, is to is to bake it into other products,

Sam [00:07:17]:
you know,

Chris [00:07:17]:
into a Samsung and into an Apple, license it to them. That would be the way to make money.

Sam [00:07:21]:
So. Yeah.

Chris [00:07:21]:
I I would think. But

Sam [00:07:22]:
to see how it goes.

Chris [00:07:23]:
But yeah. Anyway, so I thought it was interesting, and I thought I’d bring it up to Sam just Say, hey. Look. They sold out 50,000 devices in 10 days, which is way more than I expected to.

Sam [00:07:33]:
Article you have in there does talk about how if it’s legit or not. Yeah. Like, they do query

Chris [00:07:38]:
against them. Will this be a real revolutionary product? Oh, Rabbit will be a revolutionary product if it’s real. Yeah.

Sam [00:07:47]:
Talking about things selling out, you’re like this. On Twitter, Bloody Billy McFarland is on Twitter. He’s the guy behind the Fyre Festival, and he was on My First Million, And they said to him, what are you gonna do? And he goes, I’m gonna do another fire festival.

Chris [00:08:04]:
That’s right. You told me about it. I never listened to the episode.

Sam [00:08:07]:
And he so they’re like, but why? Like, you’re you’re so clever. You you do have connections? You could do anything. No. So he posts and goes, if you have to ask who the lineup is before dropping a1000000, Don’t watch this video. For everyone else, the final 105 festival 2 presale tickets are live. So you can just imagine everyone piling on going, Do we get sandwiches with The? Or do we you know, what do we you know, like, they’re just hassling them. For a1000000, no.

Chris [00:08:34]:
You you get some extra sandwiches.

Sam [00:08:35]:
Because if you watch the documentary, it’s batshit. He went to jail for it. He’s back out. Now and then he does a follow-up. My selfie video yesterday led to applications for 73 of the 100 tickets With a potential $15,000,000 in 24 hours. Right? And they’re like, yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Sam [00:08:55]:
Applications and potential. It sounds a little bit scammy. Anyway, we’ll see what happens.

Chris [00:09:01]:
Yeah. I I yeah.

Sam [00:09:03]:
He’s sticking with what he knows.

Chris [00:09:05]:
Wait. Does he know? He didn’t get it right The first time.

Sam [00:09:08]:
No. He didn’t. He just had a big idea and just promised The Earth and then ripped all those People off and, yeah.

Chris [00:09:15]:
Yeah. I don’t know. That that sounds Shout out. Chris.

Sam [00:09:20]:
Shout out to Garmin this week.

Chris [00:09:22]:
Yeah. The, yeah, Fitbit type device, whatever you call it.

Sam [00:09:26]:
It’s called a watch, Chris.

Chris [00:09:27]:
Well, no. It’s not. It’s called a a health What is The called? It’s it’s not a watch. It’s a

Sam [00:09:35]:
I don’t know what you’re saying.

Chris [00:09:36]:
It’s a it’s a They

Sam [00:09:37]:
they call them a watch.

Chris [00:09:37]:
No. They’re not. They’re not watches. Carry on.

Sam [00:09:40]:
It’s a fitness,

Chris [00:09:42]:
yeah. What do they call it? They call it a health monitor or something like that.

Sam [00:09:45]:
It’s a health pro I don’t know. Whatever. Anyway, my one stopped working Alright. Slightly. The, got a Garmin Instinct Solar, and the solar doesn’t seem to be working or it’s not telling me that it’s working. So I rang them up a couple of times. They did a reset and stuff, and then they said, you know what? Don’t worry about it. We’ll just send you the latest model.

Chris [00:10:02]:
Oh, nice.

Sam [00:10:03]:
Nice. So I’ve just sent that away now, and then once they get that, they’ll send me the new one.

Chris [00:10:06]:
How long have you had The one?

Sam [00:10:08]:
I’ve had it for just over 2 years. Alright. And everything works on it perfectly fine except for the solar thing. And, but when I got it, I got that and at a it was, like, half price at $400. So the new one that’s coming is $800. So

Chris [00:10:25]:
Wow. Wow. Yeah. Because I had the original Vivo, like, back in the day. I had that For ages.

Sam [00:10:31]:
Yeah. Yeah. I really loved that. I had one of them too.

Chris [00:10:33]:
And it finally yeah.

Sam [00:10:34]:
You had one of them.

Chris [00:10:35]:
That’s right. And then it finally died, and I just yeah. I wasn’t gonna spend more money.

Sam [00:10:40]:
No. No. So they’re pretty good. They and they don’t even need to look at it beforehand, so I assume it’s a known problem. He just goes, oh, we’ll see what we can do. Oh, there’s none of the The your current model’s not in stock. Okay. And he goes, oh, we can give you the next one up, the latest one.

Chris [00:10:54]:
No. That’s cool. No. I’ll get some mention on the podcast. It’s all good.

Sam [00:10:57]:
That’s all good.

Chris [00:10:58]:
It’s all good. Hey. I got this thing that I’ve been taught that’s been sitting here for for for months, so I’m gonna finally talk about it.

Sam [00:11:05]:
Excellent. It’s gonna be good.

Chris [00:11:06]:
Jess,

Sam [00:11:07]:
go. Go. Do you remember it?

Chris [00:11:09]:
What is it? Vaguely, vaguely.

Sam [00:11:11]:
What’s it about?

Chris [00:11:12]:
So it’s about this, And designer who’s knitting jumpers using

Sam [00:11:16]:
Urban here.

Chris [00:11:18]:
How did you know that?

Sam [00:11:18]:
I’m sure you’ve told me this.

Chris [00:11:20]:
Oh, okay. No. I reckon you just looked up.

Sam [00:11:22]:
No. I have not touched it at all. Chris sounds very familiar. I don’t I’m gonna check show notes. I’m sure you told me about those. What’s The There’s something weird about, though, isn’t there? No? No. Mate, I don’t know.

Chris [00:11:35]:
Okay. So I’ll just read this. A Willie Cote and a head of Schumann here have more in common than you think. Not only do they help retain body heat, they’re both made from keratin protein fibers. Now a Dutch startup is questioning why one is worn and the other is wasted.

Sam [00:11:51]:
Oh, okay.

Chris [00:11:52]:
So, basically, They are getting hair from, like as I understand it, The hair fibers or yeah. Hair.

Sam [00:11:59]:
When people sleep, they break into their houses And Harvest The.

Chris [00:12:03]:
Yeah. No. From barbers or whatever.

Sam [00:12:05]:
No. Mine and may way better. They’re not gonna make a movie About the barber people, are they? Breaking in and ripping people’s hair off.

Chris [00:12:13]:
Yeah. Well, waste not whatnot, every minute, salons in the US and Canada Produce 877 pounds of waste. Woah. So, yeah, there’s a lot of hair. And when hair breaks down without the presence of gin, like in a garbage bag buried in a landfill, it creates greenhouse gases.

Sam [00:12:33]:
Excellent. So,

Chris [00:12:35]:
the Human Material Loop is the name of the company Okay. For whatever reason. Yep. 72,000,000 kilograms of human hair waste end up in European landfalls Every year, the equivalent in weight of 7 Eiffel Towers.

Sam [00:12:49]:
That’s a lot of heat.

Chris [00:12:50]:
Waste stream that’s got no scalable solution. So if we can turn it into a Hello? Yeah. Loom it and and knit it into jumpers and clothing and stuff like that. It’s environmentally friendly. So that’s the idea.

Sam [00:13:04]:
I’m just gonna state I’m just gonna state that. No. I don’t wanna wear it.

Chris [00:13:07]:
No. That is exactly what I wanted to ask.

Sam [00:13:09]:
I’ll wear product from any animal known to mankind. Easy. Not a problem.

Chris [00:13:14]:
Yep. Yeah. You don’t mind those leather or those crocodile skin things.

Sam [00:13:18]:
Yeah. No. No. The doesn’t bother me too much. That does. I’d but I’d I’d like to see the process. Like, if I saw the process behind it and they’re like, okay. Here’s a 100 kilos a year.

Sam [00:13:28]:
We chuck it in this thing. It breaks down into this. Because I’m assuming it gets mushed up into a pulp and then rather than how it would work.

Chris [00:13:37]:
Yeah. I I’d I’m not sure either. I mean,

Sam [00:13:40]:
Yeah. If you know how it works, let us know. Yeah. Tell us. Hey, I got a story about a crackhead. I’m gonna call them that because I don’t know what was going on with them. This happened to me. We’re all about

Chris [00:13:53]:
just happened to you. Chris is not We’re

Sam [00:13:54]:
all about, no, we’re all about random technology in life. This and have had some other issues. I’m not saying I’m just gonna call crackhead for the sake of the story. Just putting that out there. I don’t want anyone getting upset. So I’m getting petrol, yesterday morning at 10 to 6 in the morning at a BP. And I pull in, and there’s no one else on the forecourt. There’s a Gilmore’s truck had just pulled in and parked over in the corner, And then there’s a homeless man in front of the door next to the door holding a sign.

Sam [00:14:26]:
And I’m in my head, I’m like, man, you’re keen? It’s 10 to 6 in the morning. Got a little sign. I don’t know what it says. Whatever. So I’m filling up the work vehicle, And it’s Oh,

Chris [00:14:35]:
because you use the the

Sam [00:14:36]:
Fuel card.

Chris [00:14:37]:
Fuel card on the

Sam [00:14:38]:
No. You have to go in.

Chris [00:14:39]:
You’d still have to go in.

Sam [00:14:40]:
Yeah. Yeah.

Chris [00:14:41]:
Yeah. As well.

Sam [00:14:42]:
But it’s empty, so I’m putting, like, $170 worth of fuel in this vehicle. Right? And I can hear, and I sort of look. And the crackhead, who I will describe as maybe 70 All thirty. It’s hard to tell me in record

Chris [00:15:00]:
years. But So so to my my age, pretty much.

Sam [00:15:03]:
No. He’s older. He’s older. And he’s got a big gray beard. He’s got a T shirt and track pants and bare feet. That’s it. And when I turn, he’s already fallen over and hit the ground. Oh, but he’s

Chris [00:15:16]:
on have an epileptic fit or something?

Sam [00:15:18]:
No. No. No. He’s a crackhead. So he’s on the ground, and it looks like he’s licking the ground for a few minutes.

Chris [00:15:24]:
Are you sure he’s not having any of his No. No.

Sam [00:15:26]:
Let me tell the story, and then you judge it. Okay. So anyway, he manages to get up from this position after what looks like he was licking the ground For Petrol, I’m not sure. Whatever. And he gets up and he leans he hunches all the way forward, Like, bends over with his arms sort of out in front of him and then starts sort of trot towards the front door of the BP. On on all fours? No. Only on 2 feet, but, like, leaning right forward sort of, but not touching the ground with his hands.

Chris [00:15:57]:
Sort of like a zombie. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Sam [00:15:59]:
Exactly. And he’s, and as he’s going along, he loses balance and just face hits the ground again. So I’m like, okay. And I’m just, like, still filling up, and I’m like, okay. The homeless guy comes over to him, and they

Chris [00:16:15]:
Oh, okay. So there’s a different guy. I thought it was The No.

Sam [00:16:18]:
No. No. Sorry. The original homeless guy just sitting there is a Maori guy holding a sign. The crackhead’s, Caucasian guy with a white beard. Anyway, so they, the the moldy guy comes over, and they must know each other because he doesn’t say anything. He just sort of helps him get up, And it looks like there’s some exchange real quick. I don’t know if he took something out of his pocket, put something in his pocket.

Sam [00:16:38]:
I don’t know what happened anyway. So, anyway, crack heads back up again. Off he goes. He goes into the BP. Gilmore’s guy has come Into BP to buy, I don’t know, pie or something. I don’t know what he’s doing. Yeah. So I go in to pay, crackheads in front of the tool, Pulls out an EFTPOS card, puts it in the machine, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, and I’m like, oh, this is weird.

Sam [00:17:02]:
And, he buys 4 packets of cigarettes, Big packets of cigarettes. Must have been like $200 worth.

Chris [00:17:09]:
God. Yeah. I forget how much Yeah. Exactly.

Sam [00:17:11]:
So he turns around and he’s holding The, And he goes outside and he goes back into his weird forward crouch position thing Across the forecourt. I’m like, The, watching because it looks like he’s gonna hit the ground again, but he doesn’t, and I don’t know where he goes.

Chris [00:17:29]:
He can’t afford to hit the ground. He’s got $200 worth of security. That’s why.

Sam [00:17:33]:
I don’t know where he goes. So I get in the van, I’m I’m leaving, and there’s a driveway that takes you to other shops as you leave, then there’s another driveway, and he’s sort of In the gutter next to a garden curled up holding these cigarettes but staring directly in the at me. Creepy ass. So creepy. That was my story. Now do you think he was having an epileptic foot or whatever you said?

Chris [00:18:06]:
Yeah. I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know. No. Maybe not. Maybe not. That’s weird.

Sam [00:18:12]:
It was very weird.

Chris [00:18:13]:
Why would anyone buy a 4 pack of cigarettes?

Sam [00:18:16]:
Where did he get the money from? He did not look like he had any money. Yeah. I don’t know. And then I don’t know what his I don’t know where he went or what he was gonna do because I thought, Oh, I thought he was gonna stop and talk to the guy at the front and give him 1 or something. I don’t know. But he just off he went. And then there was no one else around. And then the dude in the petrol station, I was like, man, that was weird.

Sam [00:18:39]:
And he just looked at me like Just normal everyday occurrence to him. Yeah. He’s just like, he didn’t even say anything to the dude.

Chris [00:18:45]:
Oh, god.

Sam [00:18:46]:
This week, I saw the documentary from David Farrier on Netflix called Mr.

Chris [00:18:51]:
Mister Organ. Mister Organ. Yes. Because I went to the premiere down here.

Sam [00:18:55]:
That’s right. You saw it ages ago. Yeah. Yeah. And, there was one thing, Sarah goes, you have to ask Chris, about this thing. And I said to Chris that I’d seen it, and he already came back with the thing I was gonna ask him about, which is the amazing guy at the start with its karate grip.

Chris [00:19:10]:
I it’s it’s honestly, it’s like the only thing I remember from The movie because I was pissing myself So hard,

Sam [00:19:18]:
he just grabs him by the hair, and then it, like, paralyzes him. And I was like, oh, is that all you need to do?

Chris [00:19:24]:
I couldn’t even remember what he did exactly. I just remember you guys going, what a load of crap. And, yes or no. As far as I know, that’s not a technique that works. And, but he but he kept going on about how good his grip was. Yeah.

Sam [00:19:39]:
And he was just like this.

Chris [00:19:41]:
Yeah. Hi. It’s so long ago. I saw it.

Sam [00:19:44]:
So mister Orgon stole the boat, and then the boat owner told him to go get it.

Chris [00:19:48]:
To go get it. Yeah. Yeah. He was

Sam [00:19:49]:
like, we just snuck. He was like, that dude was full of shit. He was, we just snuck up, and I got him near us, grabbed him. And when you grab him by the ear, they can’t do anything. I

Chris [00:19:58]:
was just paralyzed, and then I threw him off the boat. Yeah.

Sam [00:20:02]:
Yeah. I was like, cool.

Chris [00:20:05]:
That is is it’s an interesting movie, and the other thing I do remember about it is I did feel so sorry for that woman.

Sam [00:20:13]:
The oh, that well, yeah. The the woman that stuck with the mister organ dude, it’s crazy, and It’s weird because, people were talking about online and, on Twitter because he shared it, and he shared the follow-up sort of thing, craziness that happened when he tried suing him in court. But, They were like, oh, it’s not as good as chris, not as good as tickled, rah rah rah. And someone goes, but there there was no ending. There nothing happened, and they were like, yeah. That’s the point. It’s so frustrating. What can you do?

Chris [00:20:38]:
Yeah. It was interesting, of course, where we were because we had David Ferriero The, and we had q and a with The afterwards, and I was there to film the q and a. And, yeah, it it was, yes. Yes. It was very, interesting because they had he talked about When they showed it, they’d because they’d done the premiere in Auckland That’s right. Before they did this one, and and

Sam [00:21:00]:
I think they did And, The Christchurch, and Hamilton, whatever. So Yeah. Sounds about right.

Chris [00:21:04]:
And, He said in Auckland, they he said it was it was way more of, like, a therapy session because a lot of the people in the audience were people that Yeah. Mister Ogan had affected. And so they each got up and told their story, and it was like, Oh my god. And he’s like, this is a premiere. This is not going well.

Sam [00:21:29]:
People are not I’m not having a good time here.

Chris [00:21:33]:
No. But it was yeah. He said it was good, and he’s glad he made it. But he he City felt really weird and, like, unsafe

Sam [00:21:42]:
Yeah. Yeah.

Chris [00:21:43]:
That’s times throughout that whole thing.

Sam [00:21:45]:
Totally. So,

Chris [00:21:46]:
yeah, definitely worth seeing if you haven’t seen it.

Sam [00:21:48]:
And the the start of it, it it the the whole genesis of it started because this guy was clamping people’s cars, Like, at this place. Right? Yeah. So this week, Foo Fighters played in Auckland. Right. Sounds very good.

Chris [00:22:01]:
Yeah. Because, Net went last night, in Christchurch.

Sam [00:22:05]:
Nice. So in Auckland, there’s a dude in a high chris vest saying, hey. Just park your car here. $20 in this car park. No worries. Must have made couple of grand. Excellent. They all come back.

Sam [00:22:21]:
All their cars are towed. He’s just some dude and Iversfest. He’s not a barking person. He doesn’t have rights to it. Or online, someone said The ultimate scam is He’s the tow truck driver. Yeah. Yeah. Park.

Sam [00:22:33]:
Because you know they’ll be busy for a couple hours. Pull all those cars out. And, Jack Black got up on stage and did a little, embroidery performance. He’s here filming the Minecraft movie

Chris [00:22:44]:
Oh, really?

Sam [00:22:44]:
Whatever that means.

Chris [00:22:45]:
Yeah. Yeah. I can imagine.

Sam [00:22:47]:
Minecraft Really? Okay. Yeah. So, it was pretty cool. What is what are these bottom three things? What do you got here? Oh, I assume they’re yours. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. The are.

Sam [00:22:56]:
They they are.

Chris [00:22:57]:
I this one, yeah, I it’s written wrong, but it’s like, god is my financial planner.

Sam [00:23:02]:
I see. You okay. That makes sense because it’s got good Yeah.

Chris [00:23:05]:
Yeah. I Obviously, did it on my phone really quickly. It just creeped me up because this Colorado pastor Mhmm. He was accused accused

Sam [00:23:17]:
Oh, go.

Chris [00:23:17]:
Of pocketing 1,300,000 in crypto scheme.

Sam [00:23:21]:
Mhmm.

Chris [00:23:21]:
And, basically, his thing was, Well, god told me to. So he creates a a a thing, a cryptocurrency called and coin, I n d x coin.

Sam [00:23:33]:
Okay.

Chris [00:23:35]:
And just promoted it to Christian communities in Denver, saying God had told him People would become wealthy if they invested.

Sam [00:23:44]:
I bet. I bet.

Chris [00:23:45]:
And, guess what? They didn’t.

Sam [00:23:50]:
But it’s okay.

Chris [00:23:51]:
But he he used all the money. What is he’d used it for The, personal benefit. He remodeled the home, got a row Range Rover, some luxury handbags. I Still don’t can understand this. Why would you spend over $100,000 on a handbag? That just blows my mind.

Sam [00:24:11]:
Because then you can say you’ve got the handbag. It’s like anything special.

Chris [00:24:13]:
Jewelry An au pair, boat rentals, snowmobile adventures.

Sam [00:24:19]:
He’s living his best life.

Chris [00:24:20]:
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Because god god told him to. Good. Good. Yeah. So I I just but it is it’s it’s right.

Chris [00:24:27]:
And then you go back into his history, and turns out he was a petty Criminal life

Sam [00:24:31]:
Oh, I get you.

Chris [00:24:32]:
Of course. And all The. Of course. God spoke to him and changed his ways, and now he’s a Christian pastor. So, yeah, that worked out. Yeah. Anyway, that was one thing. I thought it was I thought it was interesting.

Chris [00:24:44]:
I don’t know if it was that amazing. This other thing, though, Is it I I I wanna know what happens with this, and maybe this is going to be a podcast on The time, like, a whole podcast series.

Sam [00:24:58]:
Okay.

Chris [00:24:58]:
Or maybe there’s just some answer that’s gonna pop up, but, a Missouri man is in trouble. Well, maybe there’s no, no charges laid against him or anything.

Sam [00:25:11]:
Okay.

Chris [00:25:12]:
3 of his friends were found dead in his backyard. Okay. Yeah. And then what? They, like They were supposed to come around for a a football game.

Sam [00:25:22]:
Yeah.

Chris [00:25:23]:
And, apparently, the guy had his it air AirPods in and didn’t hear them knock on the door or anything And went to bed and went to sleep. And then, you know, these different people never went home, and then one of the one of them’s Fiance came around and knocked on his door, and he goes, well, what’s up? And she goes, well, my Yeah.

Sam [00:25:43]:
Where’s the dude?

Chris [00:25:44]:
My my where’s the dude? And he goes, no. They didn’t come around last night. Walks out of the backyard and 3 of them frozen to death in the back. Oh, they froze to death? Yeah. It’s like the weirdest thing.

Sam [00:25:55]:
I’m like, what

Chris [00:25:55]:
the hell

Sam [00:25:56]:
is going

Chris [00:25:56]:
on here?

Sam [00:25:57]:
Hang on. What?

Chris [00:25:58]:
So when

Sam [00:25:59]:
Does that mean they got drunk?

Chris [00:26:00]:
Let me let me let me read this. I’ll I’ll read the whole thing because it it’s quite short. A Missouri man whose 3 friends were found dead in his backyard at football gatherings said he didn’t know of the deaths until days later. Days later. Okay. Kansas City police said they discovered the man after a woman went searching for a fiance on Tuesday 9th January. The woman called police, reporting a body outside of can of a Kansas City home.

Sam [00:26:23]:
Okay.

Chris [00:26:23]:
When the officers arrived, they confirmed there was a body on the back porch. Office cons officers continued their investigation and found 2 more bodies in the backyard.

Sam [00:26:31]:
Oh my gosh.

Chris [00:26:32]:
Police identified the 3 victims, 38 year old, 36 year old, 37 year old. So not like kids that might No. You know what I mean. Harrington’s mother, Jennifer Marquez, previously told something, some somebody that her son went over to a friend’s house to watch the Kansas City Chiefs game on 7th. The homeowner was a close friend with the 3 men and had nothing to do with their deaths According to his attorney

Sam [00:27:00]:
Yeah. Okay.

Chris [00:27:01]:
He had no knowledge that they were remained in his backyard or that they needed medical attention, the attorney said in a statement. They’re they’re not naming the homeowner in the story.

Sam [00:27:14]:
So why didn’t they leave? Why why are they there dead?

Chris [00:27:18]:
I don’t know.

Sam [00:27:19]:
Did they get drunk and pass out? Because if you were

Chris [00:27:21]:
stuck Prior to be being contacted by the Kansas City Police, His client did not receive any phone calls or text messages from family or friends of the victims.

Sam [00:27:30]:
Oh, I think he did.

Chris [00:27:31]:
2 people came to the house, however, Oh, came to the house. However, the homeowner didn’t hear them due to sleeping with earbuds and a loud fan, according oh, so The people come into the Yeah.

Sam [00:27:41]:
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Chris [00:27:42]:
The The wife of 1 of the victims tried to reach him, but he didn’t see the message. So, basically, he’s like, well, I I never saw the message. I didn’t know they’re and dead in the backyard.

Sam [00:27:51]:
Even if that’s true, How did they just die in the backyard?

Chris [00:27:54]:
I know. I know. That’s

Sam [00:27:57]:
And if you’re conscious and you’re like, I’m freezing to death, I’d just smash in a window or something.

Chris [00:28:03]:
Well, why would you hang around for any length?

Sam [00:28:06]:
No. But are they stuck in a yard? Can they not get out?

Chris [00:28:08]:
The, oh, yeah. Mate well I

Sam [00:28:10]:
don’t know. It’s a very weird story.

Chris [00:28:12]:
It’s a really weird story. And it’s like because they came in cars. I mean, I’m pretty sure I could get out. Like, I’d climb a fence, and I’d jump in there and drive off. It’s all there’s something Something

Sam [00:28:22]:
is not wrong with that.

Chris [00:28:23]:
Yeah. Anyway, so that that one got me.

Sam [00:28:26]:
Okay. Well, that brings us to the end of the podcast. Thanks, Brent, for listening, and whoever else is out there, Brent.

Chris [00:28:34]:
I tell you what. I’m not A 100% sold on this Mogi Mogu. The chewy bits are just a little Interesting.

Sam [00:28:44]:
How dare

Chris [00:28:45]:
you mate.

Sam [00:28:46]:
How dare you speak ill of our nonofficial sponsor of this episode?

Chris [00:28:51]:
However, I will say it’s very refreshing. It really is, so that’s good.

Sam [00:28:55]:
And

Chris [00:28:55]:
and particularly in these warm times. You, what do you got coming up? Anything exciting?

Sam [00:29:00]:
Oh, I might get my car back maybe. I don’t know. Yeah. Don’t worry about that. I sort of need it back next week, I think. Yeah.

Chris [00:29:08]:
Yeah. Oh, because Sarah will need it quicker.

Sam [00:29:10]:
Yeah. She’ll go back to work, end of next week, I think.

Chris [00:29:13]:
So Oh, god.

Sam [00:29:14]:
And make some phone calls, I guess.

Chris [00:29:16]:
No. Yeah. It’d be a bit

Sam [00:29:20]:
difficult. Otherwise, oh, should I have to drop you off early early in the morning? Or I’ll have to shift my, work hours, I guess, potentially. Yeah. I don’t know. Oh, no. No. Old man, Brett can bring me up.

Chris [00:29:31]:
Yeah. Yeah.

Sam [00:29:31]:
Yeah. You do that. Anyway, till next time. I’m Sam.

Chris [00:29:35]:
I’m Chris.

Sam [00:29:35]:
See ya, bye.
