Job Description

PlumberInstalls, maintains, and repairs pipes and fixtures associated with heating, cooling, water distribution, and sanitation systems in commercial structures. Fixes commercial appliances, such as dishwashers and gas cookers. Inspects drainage and other plumbing systems for compliance with local and national regulations.Plumber Job Duties:Interprets blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materialsInstalls pipes and fixtures, such as sinks and toilets, for water, gas, steam, air, or other liquidsInstalls supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installationAssembles fittings and valves for installationModifies length of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials as needed for a buildingUses saws and pipe cutters as necessaryInstalls heating and air-conditioning systems, including water heatersCollaborates with contractors, construction workers, electricians, pipefitters, and steamfitters in installing and repairing plumbingTests plumbing systems for leaks and other problemsAnalyses problem and identifies appropriate tools and materials for repairFollows health and safety standards and complies with building codesWrites report documenting the problem and summary of actions takenPerforms inspections of plumbing systems to identify and replace worn partsRequirements:5+ years of plumbing service and repair experienceMust be honest and self-motivated!Good customer service skills a mustAll applicants must have a strong work ethicSafety-mindedStrong customer service skills and experienceGood verbal & writing communications skillsValid driver's licenseMust be able to pass drug testBackground check & drug free workplace.Must have clean driving record.A minimum of 5 years' experience preferred, but not required if you are mechanically inclined, have good communication skills, are self-motivated and hold a valid driver's license.Requirements for a Residential Service Plumber position:Knowledge of plumbing installation, repairs, and maintenance techniques.Knowledge of plumbing codes.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.Ability to diagnose and resolve problems.Ability to use hand and power tools.
