Summary

This week, Chris gears up for field days while plotting an unusual Auckland road trip with a mystery driver, and Sam sets off 24 days of birthday surprises with the help of a 24-sided die.

There’s talk of AI stealing podcast voices, disembodied brains being used in biotech startups, and a Kickstarter cooling blanket that costs more than a night out.

The discussion explored sky-watching gadgets, rogue robots, and why microwaving fish at work might be the most dangerous move of all—just ask the cop who drew a gun over it.

Sam [00:00:08]:
Hello and welcome to episode 583 of the Chris and Sam podcast.

Chris [00:00:25]:
I’m Chris.

Sam [00:00:26]:
And I’m Sam. Welcome along to your weekly fix of randoms, technology and life with. We are gearing up for field days 2026 that’s happening next week. You’ll hear something after it. I’m sure we’ll have some photos on social media. Come find us on all of them. And I’ve got a concern that Chris can barely walk, but we’ll deal with that on the day. But the day before you’re going to Auckland.

Sam [00:00:49]:
And I said, I’m worried about you walking a little bit, like before field days. And you’re like, nah, it’s all right, I’ve got a vehicle. And. And I said, yeah, but you’re gonna walk a little bit. And you’re like, nah, I’ve got a guy. I don’t know what’s happening.

Chris [00:01:02]:
So, yeah, so I got this business card, double sided business card.

Sam [00:01:07]:
Where from? Where?

Chris [00:01:08]:
In the. In the letterbox. It was in the letterbox.

Sam [00:01:10]:
Oh, this is probably six months ago. Okay, this is getting worse by the second.

Chris [00:01:15]:
And I grabbed it and pinned it to my note to my cork board there. Because you never know.

Sam [00:01:20]:
Letterbox marketing has worked for this guy, for this guy.

Chris [00:01:23]:
So. So he goes car sharing door to door from Hamilton to Auckland, $50. Auckland to Hamilton, $50 each. Text me to book a time or 150 chartered bus, only you.

Sam [00:01:36]:
Are you sharing a ride or is it just you?

Chris [00:01:38]:
No, it’s just me. Okay, so basically I think it’s 150 each way. So I was like, well, that’s not really going to work. But I budgeted when we did the quote, 200 bucks to get up there. Cause it’s Amiibo’s 120 bucks.

Sam [00:01:52]:
They don’t exist anymore.

Chris [00:01:54]:
They don’t. Is that why the app’s not working? God damn it.

Sam [00:01:58]:
They bankrupted a couple of weeks ago. Zilch is the new one.

Chris [00:02:01]:
Oh, really?

Sam [00:02:02]:
Well, that’s what we’ve got in town now, Zilch.

Chris [00:02:04]:
Right, Because I did email.

Sam [00:02:06]:
Don’t book amivo.

Chris [00:02:08]:
I can’t. I couldn’t.

Sam [00:02:09]:
No, I know, but don’t.

Chris [00:02:10]:
What’s going on?

Sam [00:02:10]:
They’ve got no money. They don’t. Don’t, don’t.

Chris [00:02:13]:
All right, that’s a shame because it was really good. Anyway, so I was trying madly to book a mevo. Then I Remembered this card. So I text the number and I said, hey, I want to go up to Auckland next Tuesday. Yeah, Want to be up there by nine? I can leave at one. So he talked back and forth and he goes, 200 bucks. And I was like, perfect, because that’s exactly what I budgeted, actually. So that’s cool.

Sam [00:02:36]:
Okay.

Chris [00:02:36]:
So I had to deposit 50 bucks in his bank.

Sam [00:02:39]:
Yeah, you did. Yeah, you did.

Chris [00:02:40]:
So hopefully he’ll turn up and hopefully it’ll all work out. So that sounds good. But I didn’t read the other side of his card till now.

Sam [00:02:48]:
Okay, here we go.

Chris [00:02:50]:
What if you need to take a taxi, whether to the airport or to the supermarket? Just send me a short message when, where I will come. Don’t worry about money. The price must be fair, legit, as

Sam [00:03:09]:
I said. Oh, no. So there’s a couple of things.

Chris [00:03:14]:
There’s no name, there’s only the phone.

Sam [00:03:17]:
There’s a reason. There’s a reason for that. A couple of things. The other day at work I said, you always say yes to random things, especially us, because we’re doing this podcast. So we get a podcast story. And whatever you’ve got going on here, I think is going to be a podcast story, like. And also I did say earlier this is proof that I should take a photo of this car just in case you go missing. Sweet.

Sam [00:03:43]:
Yeah. Okay, that’s cool. This week I got a couple of new tires for my car to pass a warrant, so that’s always fun. And my partner, Sarah, it’s her birthday this month and she’s very excited when it’s birthday month. That’s what she calls it. Her birthday’s on the 24th. And she said if anybody wants to buy her a gift or send her some money, she’s open to that. But in my wisdom, somewhere along the lines I thought, oh, I’ll do 24 days of Sarah for her birthday, so.

Sam [00:04:12]:
Oh, God, no, hang on. The reason I thought this is because somehow I worked out there’s a 24 sided dice you can get. Right?

Chris [00:04:21]:
All right.

Sam [00:04:22]:
Yeah, yeah. So I look it up online. No one has it except for the game shop in town, right?

Chris [00:04:28]:
Oh, really?

Sam [00:04:28]:
Yeah, he’s got it. And it’s cheap. Like I’m like four bucks.

Chris [00:04:32]:
Oh, yeah, that’s true.

Sam [00:04:33]:
And I work next door to it, basically.

Chris [00:04:34]:
Yeah, yeah, Sweet.

Sam [00:04:36]:
So go in there. I think he’s startled that somebody’s there during the middle of the workday. That’s all right. He’s okay, Recovered. And I said, I’m after a 24 sided die. And he looked at me and he goes, oh, I might have an 18 sided one. Hang on. So he’s out the back behind him in all these containers.

Sam [00:04:56]:
There’s no method to this madness.

Chris [00:04:58]:
He’s just. It’s a random collection of randomizers.

Sam [00:05:03]:
Yeah. And he’s just rummaging, rummaging. And he goes, I don’t even think about an 18 sided one. Now his website did say he had him in stock. So that still is. The website still says that, which is a pain in the ass. And I said, no, it’s okay, don’t worry about it. Jump on AliExpress.

Sam [00:05:21]:
I pay 3 times that price to get one shipped from China. And I’m like it’s not going to be here on time. The first was Monday and I’m just like this is not good. It’s a public holiday. What am I going to do? She’s going to have to roll or just pick a number randomly. Then I get a message on the phone. It goes, your package has been delivered on Sunday. I was like, what? So anyway we went down the letterbox, there it was.

Chris [00:05:46]:
Oh wow.

Sam [00:05:47]:
She’s enthralled by this die.

Chris [00:05:50]:
It’s pretty cool.

Sam [00:05:51]:
Can’t stop playing with it. I should have just brought that. Be a lot cheaper

Chris [00:06:02]:
even at three times the price.

Sam [00:06:04]:
If you want to help us out, this is Chris going to Auckland with an unnamed driver.

Chris [00:06:10]:
Hoo Hoo Choo Ju I think his name was.

Sam [00:06:11]:
I’m sure it was. Or some sort of present paying ability. We’ve got a Patreon. Check out our website, there’s a link on there. We do have patrons. A big shout out to all of you. Thank you so much. With that money we pay for domain names usually that’s what mostly goes for.

Chris [00:06:30]:
Yeah. Pays for running the thing actually this weekend. So this will be this weekend before this comes out. So yeah.

Sam [00:06:38]:
Yeah, yeah. Okay.

Chris [00:06:40]:
I’m speaking at the Coaching Evolution Summit so that’ll be. I’m quite looking forward to.

Sam [00:06:46]:
This is an online thing. I’m guessing.

Chris [00:06:47]:
It’s online. It’s basically US based this one I

Sam [00:06:53]:
think so it’s at a silly time of the day.

Chris [00:06:55]:
Not really. Oh it’s 6 or 7am oh that’s not too bad. So it’s not too bad. Yeah so that, that’ll be quite good. It’s a four day seminar so I’m actually going for for a few days so I’m going to go along to, to them in the morning. Like I’ll Yeah, I think it starts at 3am my time. I’m not going to bother with the first ones. And it goes till.

Sam [00:07:17]:
Do you get to share your brand new website with these people?

Chris [00:07:19]:
That’s sort of the plan.

Sam [00:07:21]:
What’s the address to this website?

Chris [00:07:23]:
Chrishanlin nz.

Sam [00:07:25]:
Go check it out. He built it with the help of AI and it looks really sharp.

Chris [00:07:28]:
Yeah, I think so. But yeah, so that’s, that’s positive. I went today to. To aqua.

Sam [00:07:37]:
Aqua Aerobic thing, whatever.

Chris [00:07:39]:
Yeah, yeah, Old person training. Yeah. After I managed to get over the scaffolding.

Sam [00:07:45]:
Yes. Chris has got some scaffolding that’s been put up around his place and there’s a bit at like knee height. It’s like the worst height for him. And I was like, how you trapped here until this goes?

Chris [00:07:55]:
Yeah, it’s. It’s a bit of a. It doesn’t look pretty, me trying to get over this thing, but at the moment. But anyway, it’s cool. Yeah. And man, I think I’ve had a couple of painkillers after coming back from the pool.

Sam [00:08:07]:
Okay.

Chris [00:08:08]:
Yeah.

Sam [00:08:08]:
We’re going to have to manage your painkillers next week at field day.

Chris [00:08:11]:
I’m going to take some with me.

Sam [00:08:12]:
Yes. Yeah. Because you probably need some beforehand. Talking about new websites, I finally finished one that I’ve been working on for a long time, Audioscrapbook nz. We’ve been recording audio for a long time and I think it’s marvelous. Just, it’s easy to do. You can do it, use a phone, you can save it, play it back. And the genesis of this was Sarah said to me one day after her dad died suddenly, what happens if I forget his voice? And this is recording memories for the future from people that you care about or are important to you.

Sam [00:08:44]:
It’s a super simple concept. I do have a DIY guide on the website that you can purchase that will help you with it. But if you read the website and you sort of know what you’re doing, just record some audio conversations, things happening, doesn’t matter, just record it because those recordings will be so important in the future.

Chris [00:09:04]:
Just imagine how much you care about me and Sam right now and you’ve never met us, so.

Sam [00:09:09]:
That’s right. And like, you know, we’ve inadvertently been doing this for like 12 years as a podcast. So something happens to one of us, somebody can just listen to some random episode.

Chris [00:09:20]:
Yeah, exactly.

Sam [00:09:20]:
And get the gist of us anyway. Check that out.

Chris [00:09:22]:
Or. Or they can steal our voices for AI. No, we’ve joked about this. But I got this message this week.

Sam [00:09:30]:
Oh.

Chris [00:09:31]:
From one of our regular listeners.

Sam [00:09:33]:
Yeah.

Chris [00:09:33]:
And. And she goes, is this Sam? And she messaged me the video of her. She’d videoed the thing and played it, and it was like, yep, that sounds like Sam.

Sam [00:09:43]:
What was it doing?

Chris [00:09:45]:
It was. It was a sample. It was on articulate software we use for epic learning.

Sam [00:09:50]:
Yeah. And.

Chris [00:09:53]:
And it did absolutely sound like you. And then she went, I’m gonna get that voice.

Sam [00:09:57]:
Okay.

Chris [00:09:58]:
And choose that voice and use it. And then when she had the longer version, it didn’t quite sound. It sounded more Australian. But she goes, it still sounds sort of like him, but not like him. And I’m like, there is a definite Sam level of stuff there. Because she was saying. This was nat. She was saying, you guys are so screwed.

Chris [00:10:18]:
That’s so stealing your voices. They can.

Sam [00:10:21]:
Hey, they can steal our voices, but they’re not going to steal the randomness, technology, and life stories that we have. AI can’t even make up half the stuff. AI does not know that Xing Lingping, or whatever his name is, has come to pick you up. Okay. And next time, even if they did know that, and they were like, okay, we’ve got a sort of a story here, the next story you come up with will be completely batshit. Hey, robots. Humanoid robots.

Chris [00:10:45]:
Yes.

Sam [00:10:45]:
Do you know what they’re missing? And they’ve had to stick a. And add to them.

Chris [00:10:50]:
Toes.

Sam [00:10:50]:
Close. Fingernails.

Chris [00:10:52]:
Fingernails, yeah.

Sam [00:10:54]:
So they’ve found that some of them have, like, human fingers. But if they want to pick things up and peel things, they don’t have the dexterity or the ability to do it. So they stick.

Chris [00:11:05]:
They got rounded nubs.

Sam [00:11:07]:
Yeah, they’ve got rounded nubs. That’s right. So they’re sticking on these little fingernails. I saw this video, and I was like, okay. So I reckon that’s an optional upgrade, though. Probably like, they’re like, well, do you want the base model? It’s just, like, going to flop around in the kitchen. Actually, there was another one where this. You know those little robots that.

Sam [00:11:24]:
I like that, like, child size.

Chris [00:11:26]:
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Sam [00:11:26]:
In China, they seem to have 100 million of them. For some reason, one of them went rogue and started kicking a child.

Chris [00:11:35]:
Chucky, I want. I’ve got to give a couple of things here, but I. I wanted to get your idea on whether you think this is a good thing or a bad thing.

Sam [00:11:46]:
Okay.

Chris [00:11:47]:
Or maybe it’s just a way for us to make money for the podcast. If. If my body doesn’t survive field Days. Either the field days or whatever.

Sam [00:11:57]:
Or the trip in the car with the dude.

Chris [00:12:00]:
That trip in the car.

Sam [00:12:01]:
I hope the car for some reason is like unique or janky because I’ll

Chris [00:12:07]:
take a photo of it.

Sam [00:12:09]:
Good.

Chris [00:12:10]:
No, so alive but not dead. Not alive but not dead. Disembodied human brains are being used for drug testing.

Sam [00:12:19]:
Oh, okay, so. And I’m assuming they’re getting them legitimately. This isn’t some weird backyard thing.

Chris [00:12:25]:
Yeah, people are donating them for science. But then. Sounds a bit commercial to me.

Sam [00:12:31]:
But anyway, by restoring, you know, there’s a brain guy. Somebody’s got a brain guy. He’s like, you want some brains? I’ll get you some brains.

Chris [00:12:36]:
I’ll get you some brains. He’s got a big jacket with bulges in it.

Sam [00:12:39]:
Exactly.

Chris [00:12:40]:
By restoring some function. So intake brains from deceased donors. The startup Becksorg sounds a bit like the Borg, doesn’t it?

Sam [00:12:48]:
Yeah.

Chris [00:12:48]:
Bixorg hopes to create a better drug development test bed for neurodegenerative diseases. So like, from that point of view, I’m like, if my brain can help somebody not have Huntington’s or dementia, Parkinson’s or whatever. Parkinson’s. Like, you know, pull it apart.

Sam [00:13:04]:
We’re in.

Chris [00:13:05]:
But yeah, where do we invest? But it, I mean, it sounds like, you know, do they. They should rent the brain? I reckon they should. If from the family, from me. If my brain goes. You guys should. We should be renting it and go. The money should be going to the support the Chris and Sam podcast.

Sam [00:13:23]:
When are you renting it, though?

Chris [00:13:24]:
Well, after I’m done with it, obviously.

Sam [00:13:28]:
But you’re not around to give the money to.

Chris [00:13:30]:
No, we’ll put it in a trust or something. There has to be a way to do it. But.

Sam [00:13:35]:
Yeah, but isn’t that like the part where it gets a bit iffy, as if money exchanges hands in that scenario?

Chris [00:13:43]:
Because then people will go, Sam just killed you so he could get you to your brain to pay for the domain. Pay.

Sam [00:13:51]:
Yeah, that’s right. You’re gonna have people scooping out people’s brains. And they’re like, we can’t use that because it’s still warm or whatever. And they’re like, oh.

Chris [00:14:01]:
Anyway, I thought, I wondered about it just because it’s. It’s a five year old biotech startup and.

Sam [00:14:08]:
Yeah, I just, I guess, I guess they started out potentially with live people just sort of with electrodes and they’re like, you know, would be better. I don’t know.

Chris [00:14:19]:
Well, no, because. Yeah. Cause I Think that testing what the drug does to the brain. So if it eats it away or something. Oh, that isn’t good. We shouldn’t do that.

Sam [00:14:30]:
Probably not.

Chris [00:14:30]:
But we don’t mind testing it on somebody that is already dead.

Sam [00:14:34]:
Yeah, well that’s a crazy. Yeah, anyway, it’s a crazy startup. This is a real short story in America. This woman, like sometimes it’s hard to fathom just how many weapons must be just laying around over there in general.

Chris [00:14:51]:
I know.

Sam [00:14:52]:
Cause like bad guys here have guns but most people don’t. It’s just a different world. Anyway, this woman was convicted of selling dangerous drugs, firearms and landmines. That’s like next level.

Chris [00:15:08]:
I’ve got one very similar to that. Where is it?

Sam [00:15:12]:
And if you’re wondering, they were the Bouncing Betty landmines.

Chris [00:15:16]:
Oh really? That freaking hell. That’s even worse. There was a guy. Oh, oh, there it is. Somebody that called the cops. The cops went down to grab this guy.

Sam [00:15:31]:
So

Chris [00:15:33]:
they reported this guy for walking down the street with a bazooka.

Sam [00:15:37]:
Yeah, yeah, well, yeah, you would report

Chris [00:15:40]:
that but he just happened to have camo pants on, carrying a leaf blower because he’s a yard. Yard.

Sam [00:15:48]:
Hang on. So they turned up and there’s a floating body holding some sort of petrol powered bazooka. Oh no, that’s cool.

Chris [00:15:57]:
So yeah, it’s just like. And the police are like, they didn’t shoot him. So the police responded to a report of a camouflaged bazooka wielding man last week and instead found a landscaper carrying a leaf blower.

Sam [00:16:10]:
You know that’s a story that he’s going to carry with him for the rest of his life.

Chris [00:16:13]:
10:40am like not.

Sam [00:16:15]:
Oh my God. And it was making a weird sound.

Chris [00:16:22]:
He goes. I think, I’m sure I read somewhere that oh, there it is. You’re better off calling reporting something than ignoring it and having something. Having it be something worse. So they were not upset at the person for talking about the guy with the bazooka walking down the street at ten foot.

Sam [00:16:41]:
Oh man.

Chris [00:16:45]:
So American.

Sam [00:16:46]:
I see you’ve got this thing listed here, but. And I just quickly checked to see the title because you were talking about Gambling addicts are so screwed apparently. And I have not looked this up, but I probably do believe it. I think it’s steak. The thing where you can bet on anything.

Chris [00:17:02]:
There’s a few. There’s Couchie.

Sam [00:17:03]:
Yeah.

Chris [00:17:04]:
There’s. What’s the P?

Sam [00:17:06]:
One something begin with P. Yeah, I can’t think of. Top of my head. Yeah, one of them. I’m sure it’s stake or the other one. They have now got rush hour traffic. And you can bet on how many cars go through a intersection during rush hour traffic. Set period of time.

Sam [00:17:24]:
And AI counts all the cars. What is happening with the world?

Chris [00:17:28]:
It’s so dumb. So dumb. No, this one is a. I think this is just worse. And all. All you need is the. The headline really. But I just like, these guys are so screwed.

Chris [00:17:40]:
So she banned. This woman, banned herself from Pennsylvania casinos.

Sam [00:17:45]:
He. She banned herself?

Chris [00:17:46]:
Yeah. So it’s a quite a common thing. I know you can do it as

Sam [00:17:50]:
well if you’re a problem gambler.

Chris [00:17:52]:
I’m a problem gambler. Don’t let me back.

Sam [00:17:54]:
Okay.

Chris [00:17:54]:
And then they go in anyway.

Sam [00:17:57]:
And in theory they should be removed.

Chris [00:17:58]:
They should be removed.

Sam [00:17:59]:
Okay.

Chris [00:17:59]:
Well, they refused to remove her. They let her keep gambling until she won the jackpot. Then they threw her out. They called the cops.

Sam [00:18:08]:
Did she get the money?

Chris [00:18:08]:
I don’t know. Because it says the.

Sam [00:18:12]:
Oh, no.

Chris [00:18:12]:
You think troopers didn’t say whether she got to keep the jackpot. And I’m like, that is such a loophole for the casino. Totally.

Sam [00:18:20]:
Totally.

Chris [00:18:22]:
Dumbass.

Sam [00:18:23]:
That is dumb. I’ve got two Kickstarter drop kicks for you this week.

Chris [00:18:27]:
Okay.

Sam [00:18:27]:
You can start with the K25 cooling blanket or sky sphere.

Chris [00:18:31]:
Cooling blanket. Because I was looking at something that was a little similar. It was a cooling jacket.

Sam [00:18:36]:
Yeah. Well, these guys have probably done it. This is like their 13th Kickstarter and all of them have completed and met their goal. And some of them pretty big. So somehow they’ve probably got the. What do you call it? Material that or technology where this cooling thing gets put in everything.

Chris [00:18:55]:
Yeah.

Sam [00:18:55]:
Just waiting for Kickstarter to load. Cause it’s deciding to be a bit of a dick.

Chris [00:19:01]:
Okay.

Sam [00:19:02]:
So this is Solo RM as the company. It’s a blanket engineered for hot sleepers. Reduce stress and it improves your sleep quality. Like I said, they’ve done a whole bunch of these. Their motto is it can be different.

Chris [00:19:17]:
What a motto? Yeah.

Sam [00:19:20]:
Redefining essentials one at a time. When an artist meets an entrepreneur, magic happens. Okay? I don’t want to hear about them and their great team. But they’ve got these other things. A cooling pillow, cooling silver sheets, a cooling. A special bath towel. Redefined all this stuff. But we’re not going to talk about that.

Sam [00:19:41]:
This is a blanket. That’s all you need to know. It helps cool you down. They want to raise.

Chris [00:19:47]:
Is it. Do you plug it in or.

Sam [00:19:50]:
No, no, it’s just a blanket. There’s nothing more to this. It’s just a blanket.

Chris [00:19:53]:
Yeah. So not battery, not technology, just. Just the. Yeah, the fibers of the holes.

Sam [00:19:58]:
As we record this right now, it’s 24 hours to go. When you hear this on the podcast, it’s over. But these guys are around. I’m sure they’re still selling them all over the place. Don’t worry about that. One blanket is 196 New Zealand dollars.

Chris [00:20:12]:
Screw that, that’s.

Sam [00:20:15]:
That’s a twin, twin XL. You save 50% and you get a free pillowcase. This is super early bird too. I’m not even going to look at the rest of the prices. That’s all you need to know. $195 for a blanket, right? Cool. Now they want to raise 8,500 New Zealand dollars.

Chris [00:20:35]:
They did that in the first day.

Sam [00:20:37]:
It may be looking at this number here.

Chris [00:20:41]:
I bet you they did that in the first day.

Sam [00:20:43]:
Well, they’ve got a loyal fan base, I think. So whenever these guys make.

Chris [00:20:46]:
So it sounds like they get a lot of these things and I wouldn’t be surprised if there isn’t a few establishments like hotels and stuff in hot climates.

Sam [00:20:55]:
They might, yeah.

Chris [00:20:56]:
Buy a bunch of them, have it if, if, if it, you know, high, high, high end stuff. So yeah, I’m going to say there are a couple of hundred thousand.

Sam [00:21:05]:
Couple of hundred.

Chris [00:21:06]:
Yep.

Sam [00:21:07]:
$486,000. So that’s cool. And then because you went with that, now you’ve got skysphere, which leads into another story later, which is great. It’s all coming up Milhouse. This week. Skysphere is building an intelligent all sky camera network. Have you thought about having a camera on your roof that just points up at the sky? Now you can.

Chris [00:21:29]:
Why?

Sam [00:21:29]:
What? It provides a trusted real time window into the dynamic sky above you while contributing a global sky awareness network powered by intelligent connected observation systems around the world.

Chris [00:21:43]:
Is this a conspiracy theory type thing for tin hat wearing people? Going, are the satellites checked? Is CIA tracking?

Sam [00:21:53]:
Maybe you can observe. Yeah, you could observe anything. Meteors.

Chris [00:21:59]:
Are there drones circling my house?

Sam [00:22:01]:
Drones is on here. Aircra. Unusual unexpected activity overhead. Atmospheric conditions. Yeah, you get alerts for meaningful sky activity. Yeah, you’re part of a network. This is what it looks like. It’s sort of like a white box with a camera pointing upwards.

Sam [00:22:16]:
Like a webcam.

Chris [00:22:17]:
Yeah, it looks like one of those sun domey type things. Yeah, solar.

Sam [00:22:22]:
So that’s the gist of it, I guess it’s watching the sky. I Guess for some people that’s important. I could think of something better to spend my money on. But let’s not.

Chris [00:22:33]:
Yeah, let’s talk about the money. Because to be fair, the people that have that need to look at the sky tend to have a lot of money because they.

Sam [00:22:42]:
I will say when it starts off with just, hey, just back this project to say hi, like 20 bucks. And then it’s still got T shirts and hoodies and stuff. Before you even get to the product, you know that it’s going to cost you 1300 New Zealand dollars.

Chris [00:22:57]:
1300?

Sam [00:22:59]:
Yep. So it’s 1300 and it’s got how many days to go? 27 days to go.

Chris [00:23:05]:
So.

Sam [00:23:05]:
But if you.

Chris [00:23:06]:
Halfway ish.

Sam [00:23:06]:
Yep, halfway ish. Now, they wanted to raise 127,000 New Zealand dollars. How much have they raised?

Chris [00:23:15]:
250,000?

Sam [00:23:16]:
81,000. It’s not there yet. So if you want that, check out the [email protected]. now that leads into something else. If you had that camera on your roof and you were in New England, you would have known what caused your double sonic boom about a week ago. It was a meteorite about the weight of an elephant.

Chris [00:23:40]:
Oh, I did hear something or see something about that.

Sam [00:23:43]:
So it shook homes. Pets went fleeing, and people started freaking out because they did not know what it was. And usually meteorites end up in oceans and places where no one is, but this one is above people. I was like, man, that’d be so cool to see or hear. Yeah, it was about 1.5 meters wide. Wow. So it’s decent. Yeah.

Sam [00:24:06]:
And it just did this double sonic boom and then obviously broke up and bits went all over the place. It didn’t really say that it really hit anything of importance. It didn’t go through that dog kennel like that one last time. Anyway, that’s the story. But if you had that camera.

Chris [00:24:23]:
Yeah, you might have caught it.

Sam [00:24:25]:
Maybe that’d be cool.

Chris [00:24:27]:
I like this story. Officer arrested after allegedly pointing a firearm at fellow cop.

Sam [00:24:34]:
Okay, that’s not good.

Chris [00:24:35]:
Over microwaved fish.

Sam [00:24:38]:
Oh, hang on.

Chris [00:24:40]:
So this cop is in the kitchen at the cop cop place and he’s microwaving his fish. And one of the other cops goes, you bastard, get that out of here. And pulls a gun on him. Now, the funniest thing about this is that when we do improv and we have what could go wrong in a workplace? Like as one of the prompts, microwave fish is one of the most popular and common things that comes up.

Sam [00:25:11]:
Because I think even if you only Experience once in your lifetime. It sticks. At my work we’ve got four microwaves and everybody lines up to use these microwaves. It’s chaos. I never bring food to reheat at work because of this. And once in a blue moon, somebody just goes, stuff it. I’m bringing the fish. Why? They clean out the machine and it’s tidy and all that, but it’s just like, is this some sort of weird power move? Who are you? Is that why people just apparently don’t work there anymore? I reckon they get blacklisted and then they’re gone.

Sam [00:25:54]:
Because there’s occasionally, every now and then there’s some.

Chris [00:25:58]:
It should be an HR offence to my fish. I think it is.

Sam [00:26:02]:
Because occasionally there’s people you see all the time. I don’t know what they do, who they are or where they work, like in the building, but then they just disappear and I don’t know what happened to them.

Chris [00:26:12]:
They were microwaving fish maybe.

Sam [00:26:15]:
Maybe so. That’s crazy. I see your buddy Trump wants to possibly keep his UFC ring on the lawn all the time. Like a permanent structure now.

Chris [00:26:27]:
Oh, really?

Sam [00:26:27]:
That’s what he’s come out and said now. He goes, oh, it’d be great. Just leave it there all the time. Have you seen the picture? The wide angled picture of the demolished side on the right and this ring in the front. We are in Idiocracy 100%. It’s so crazy.

Chris [00:26:44]:
It’s so nuts. So did you hear his thing about Democrats?

Sam [00:26:51]:
No.

Chris [00:26:52]:
Okay, so I have to. I have to do this. Let’s see if I try the Trump voice. So I said, no, I can’t get the voice right. Anyway, he goes, democrats, I call them Democrats because, well, the dumb. And what I did was I put the U there for dumb, but I took off the B. Now most people don’t realize there is a B after the word dumb. It’s on the end of dumb.

Chris [00:27:20]:
But most people don’t know that, but intelligent people do. And I’m sure he’s just figured this out, right?

Sam [00:27:27]:
Yeah, somebody’s just told me.

Chris [00:27:28]:
Somebody’s just told. And so I take the B off and then, oh, crap. And. And that’s the new name. It’s dumb. A crat.

Sam [00:27:35]:
He is so dumb.

Chris [00:27:37]:
He’s so weird.

Sam [00:27:38]:
He has fallen upwards so much in his life. You couldn’t write. AI could not write this if you gave it all the data. Because it doesn’t make any sense.

Chris [00:27:51]:
It doesn’t.

Sam [00:27:52]:
Do you know what makes sense though? Tcast.com, 12 years almost of our back catalog. It’s all there. Most of them have transcripts. Not all of them, but you can listen to everything. And we’d like that. Share us around. We’re gonna go to field days. That’s exciting.

Chris [00:28:08]:
Yep. So we’ll be interviewing a bunch of people at field days. We usually do. And I’ll be hobbling around, so it’d be interesting.

Sam [00:28:16]:
Chris may be there in spirit at the end. We will see how we go.

Chris [00:28:20]:
I may never leave.

Sam [00:28:23]:
Oh, no. We’ll get those ashes buried in a block there.

Chris [00:28:27]:
We’ll talk.

Sam [00:28:27]:
The brain.

Chris [00:28:28]:
Not the brain.

Sam [00:28:29]:
Okay. Until next time. I’m Sam.

Chris [00:28:31]:
I’m Chris.

Sam [00:28:32]:
See ya.

Chris [00:28:32]:
Bye
